1. Remove the adapter cover from the adapter holder by loosening
the set screws. Remove the slide pad and spring, and set them
aside. (Figure 1.)
2. Unscrew the wire nuts and separate the wires. (Figure 2.)
3. Adjust the length of the cable:
a.) Measure the desired length of cable and mark "A";
Slide adapter holder down past "A". Fold cable down
and slide strain relief downward to loosen, then
remove Strain Relief from cable (Figure 3-a).
b.) Slide cable through side hole on Strain Relief
(Figure 3-b) until it is 1" above mark "A"; Loop end of
cable and slide through another hole on Strain Relief
(3-c); Pull on both ends of cable to tighten loop,
making sure that Strain Relief is 1" above mark "A".
c.) Measure 2-3/4" from cable exiting Strain Relief
(Figure 4-a), and cut off excess cable.
d.) Measure 2" down from end of cable (Figure 4-b); cut
carefully around cable and peel off insulation to reveal 3 inner wires.
CAUTION: Too deep cutting may damage the insulation layer of the three wires inside.
e.) Measure 3/8" down from end of inner wires (Figure 4-b), and trim off insulation.
4. Carefully inspect the fixture wires, the NEUTRAL wire (with a white line along its length), the HOT
wire (clear), the GROUND wire (with a green line along its length) BEFORE making wire
connections.
5. Attach the ground wire from the fixture to the ground wire from the adapter cover (usually green /
yellow insulation or bare wire). Fasten each together with a wire nut and wrap the connection with
electrical tape. Be sure that no wire strands are exposed.
6. Connect the NEUTRAL wire from the fixture to the NEUTRAL wire from the adapter cover . Fasten
each together with a wire nut and wrap the connection with electrical tape. Be sure that no wire
strands are
exposed.
