Installation Instructions
INSTALLING THE HOUSING
NEW CONSTRUCTION
You can use the two methods to install this fixture in new constructions
Method NO. 1 --- Illustration-1
Purchase plaster frame accessory 349-1674. Position it between two joists with the lip surrounding the
circular opening in the down position. The plaster frame should be level with the bottom of the joists with
the lower edge of the lip 1/2" below that. Hammer a nail into both nail in tabs to secure to the joists.
Before proceeding, make sure that you have a sufficient length of house circuit wire to drop 12" below the
plaster frame. Next, install the ceiling material with a pre cut hole for the plaster frame opening. Bring the
house circuit wire into the junction box. Make the electrical connections follows: white to white, black to
black, bare copper (or green wire) to bare copper (or green wire). Now insert the husing into the opening
and secure it to the plaster frame with the three screws that are supplied.
NOTE: This fixtures is approved for branch circuit wiring. See directions on the junction box cover.
EXISTING CEILING (RENOVATION)
Method NO. 2
Do not install the fixture yet. Make sure you have sufficient length of house circuit wire to drop 12" below
the surface of the ceiling material in the location where the fixture is to be installed. Now install the ceiling
material, cut the correct diameter hole in the desired location. Bring the house circuit wire through the hole
and complete the electrical connections in the fixture junction box as follows: white toe white, black to black,
bare copper (or green wire) to bare copper (or green wire). Push the housing into the ceiling, then insert three
L shaped clips into the three T slots and pull each one down until the housing is held firmly in the ceiling.
Method NO. 2 is preferred as it allows for a less "exact location" of the hole in the ceiling material and
does not require the plaster frame accessory 349-1674.
Follow the instructions in section 2 above.
