Controls Button Functions Frame on/off switch Note: You can also define automatic power on/off for the frame. Access the main menu Return to the higher level menu Access pop-up menu The pop-up menu lets you delete, copy or rotate a picture among other things. Installation Installing the frame on a flat surface Insert the power cable into the sleeve provided and insert the sleeve into the frame. Installing the frame on a wall 1. Remove the metal bar located at the back of the frame. 2. Fix the wall mounting bracket using the screws provided. 3. Screw the metal part to the wall.
4. Slide the power cable into the hooks (upper then lower) then insert the frame into the bracket fixed to the wall. Note: Ensure you have enough slack in the power cable to allow you to change the orientation (portrait/landscape). Orientation Automatic rotation If you turn the frame round, the pictures will rotate automatically to adapt to the new orientation. Changing orientation If the frame is fixed to a wall, raise it slightly before rotating it.
Switching on Adaptor Connecting to the mains Switching on/off Select the correct adaptor for your country. Europe Connect the power cable to the transformer then plug it into the mains socket. Press the U.S. U.K. button to turn the frame on/off. Maintenance and precautions Only use the cloth provided to clean the frame. Avoid cleaning the frame with alcohol, chemical products or household cleaners. Unplug the frame if you're not using it for a long period.
Starting Selecting the language When you use the frame for the first time, a window appears asking you to select your country. Use the trackball to select the country then press it to confirm. If you want to change the language of the frame afterwards, select Settings > Information. Using the virtual keyboard The virtual keyboard appears when you need to enter the security key to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
Display settings You can choose whether or not to display the time in the frame while viewing your photos. To do this, select Settings > System > Date/Time > Adjustment > Display. Note: The time is not displayed in the Holidays, People, RSS reader applications or when you browse the Internet. This option also lets you display the time as background when the frame is in standby mode. Time display format To select the time display format, select Settings > System > Date/Time > Format.
Wi-Fi Before starting Information required Identifying the name of the Wi-Fi network Reading off the security key The technical name used to describe the name of the network is the SSID (Service Set Identifier). This is generally found underneath your router. If you have already changed the name of your Wi-Fi network, use this new name. If you have a secure network, read off the WEP, WPA or WPA2 key required to set up a connection.
WARNING: Be careful not to confuse the WPS button with an association button (e.g. Livebox). Examples of WPS routers ► If your modem / router supports SES or WPS technology, see Setting up a connection with SES / WPS. ► If your modem / router does not support SES or WPS technology, see Setting up a connection without SES / WPS.
Setting up a wireless connection Setting up a connection with SES/WPS If your modem/router supports SES or WPS technology: 1. Select Settings > Wi-Fi on the frame. > The connection window is displayed. 2. Select Configure. > The list of available Wi-Fi networks is displayed. 3. Select Auto. 4. Press the SES or WPS button on your wireless modem or router (refer to the documentation which came with your device for more information). > If the connection is established, a confirmation message appears.
4. Select your Wi-Fi network. > If your network is secure, a virtual keyboard appears. 5. If you have a secure network, enter your WEP/WPA key. WARNING: - Network keys are case-dependent. If you have a WEP network, enter the WEP key without spaces. If your have a WPA or WPA2 network enter the key exactly as it appears, including spaces if necessary. > If the connection is established, a confirmation message appears.
Checking the status of the connection 1. Select Settings > Information. 2. Check that the message "Connection ok" is shown in the Wi-Fi field. Note: If the message "No web connection" appears, check that the IP address starts with "192.168". If not, try to set up the connection again. The Frame's web user interface Note: The web interface of the Grande Specchio lets you use the Wi-Fi function more quickly if you want to associate multiple e-mail addresses, RSS feeds or shared directories.
Using Wi-Fi Receiving E-mail pictures Before you start The Grande Specchio frame is compatible with most existing e-mail servers (Gmail, Yahoo, Free, etc). Note: If you use the frame with a Gmail address, ensure POP protocol is activated for all messages. To do this, when logged on to Gmail, click Settings (on the top right), select the Transfer and POP/IMAP tab then click Activate POP protocol for all messages. We recommend you create a special e-mail address for the frame.
Note: The Delete the messages option lets you automatically delete emails containing pictures from your e-mail account while keeping the pictures on the frame. This option is not compatible with all e-mail servers. Associating an email address by using the frame 1. Select Settings > E-mail > Add an e-mail account. 2. Enter your login identifiers in the appropriate fields. Note: Server and protocol information is entered automatically for most e-mail servers.
Using the frame with a Flickr account Ensure you have at least one album on your account before associating the frame. If your Flickr account is not public, select Authorize the frame to see private albums / pictures. Using the frame with a Picasa account If your feed is protected by a password, ensure the frame date is correct. If your identifier is a Gmail address, only enter the part in front of the "@".
Viewing photos stored on a computer WARNING: Shared picture directories can only be viewed on the frame if your PC does not use "Active directory" technology (installed on a number of company PCs). Note: When you connect the frame to your Wi-Fi network, a certain amount of time elapses (between 5 and 15 minutes) before all shared directories are displayed on the frame.

Using the People application People lets you get to know people you might not otherwise have met. They are not necessarily exceptional in any way but they are unknown: people as they really are. Select People to start the application. Note: No settings can be changed in the People application. It does not therefore have a pop-up menu. Using the Holidays application Holidays takes you to places around the world by letting you select a location then showing you pictures taken from around there.

Press and select Refresh to refresh the contents of the Web page. You can open more than one web page and move from one to the other. To open a new window, press and select New Window. Configure the frame with Framechannel Use a Framechannel account to manage the display of information such as the weather, news, sporting results etc. on the frame. Note: You can also use the frame with the FrameIt site. Creating a Framechannel account 1. Select RSS reader. 2. Press and select Content provider > Frame Channel > Done. > A code is displayed on the screen. You will need this code to associate the frame with your Framechannel account.
Displaying News on the frame 1. Log on to Framechannel and enter your identifiers. 2. Click News in the column on the left and select the type of information you want to display. 3. Select a thread then click Add this channel to my device. Note: You can also display other types of news (sport, economic, leisure, etc.) on the frame. Displaying photos from a Facebook account on the frame 1. Log on to Framechannel and enter your identifiers. 2.
Bluetooth Using the frame with a telephone via Bluetooth Compatibility You can send pictures from any Bluetooth telephone supporting the Object Push profile. Sending a picture by Bluetooth from a telephone 1. Select a picture on your telephone and select "Send by Bluetooth". > your telephone starts a search for Bluetooth peripherals. 2. Select Grande_Specchio from the list of available Bluetooth peripherals. 3. Enter the code 0000 if requested.
Using the frame with a computer via Bluetooth Sending a picture by Bluetooth from a PC Compatibility Sending a picture You can send pictures from any PC which supports Bluetooth technology. If your PC does not have Bluetooth functionality, connect a Bluetooth dongle after installing the necessary drivers. 1. Activate Bluetooth functionality on your computer. 2. Right-click the picture you want to send, and select "Send by Bluetooth". > You PC will look for Bluetooth peripherals in the vicinity.
Changing Bluetooth settings Changing the Bluetooth name To change the name by which your frame is known by other Bluetooth devices: 1. Select Settings > Bluetooth > Frame Name. 2. Use the virtual keyboard to change the name and select OK. Note: Spaces are replaced by underscores. Enabling the Bluetooth function Select Settings > Bluetooth > Status > Enabled to enable the Bluetooth function.
USB / SD Compatibility WARNING: Only pictures in JPG format can be displayed on the frame. USB devices You can use the frame with any type of USB flash drive. You can also connect your digital camera to the frame by using a USB cable if your camera is recognised as a mass storage device. Memory cards There is no restriction in terms of the capacity of USB flash drives.
Defining a USB flash drive/SD card as default memory If you want to extend the memory of the frame, you can use a USB flash drive /SD card as the default frame memory. To do this, select Settings > Default memory > SD card or USB. > From then on, all pictures you receive on the frame (via Bluetooth, e-mail, etc.) will be stored on your SD card/USB flash drive.
Picture management Organising pictures Copying or moving pictures Before you start Copying/moving a picture When you view pictures in the USB, SD card, RSS feed and PC Shares directories, these pictures are not saved in the internal frame memory. You can copy or move them to the frame's internal memory. You can also: - retrieve pictures from the internal memory of the frame using a USB flash drive or a memory card - transfer photos from a USB flash drive to a memory card or vice versa 1.
Deleting pictures 1. Select Browse > Directory then select the directory containing the picture to delete. 2. Select the picture and press 3. Select Delete. 4. Confirm by pressing the trackball. Note: You can also: - delete more than one picture at the same time using the Select option - delete a directory. Creating a new folder 1. Select Browse > Directory then select the directory in which you wish to create a new folder. 2. Press and select Create a folder 3.
Setting the order pictures are to appear in You can change the order the pictures are to appear in (wherever their location) using the Customize directory. 1. Select Browse > Directory > Customize. 2. Select a picture then press 3. Select Classify. > A green frame appears around the picture 4. Use the trackball to select a new location, then press the trackball. > The new position of the image is stored.
Slideshow Starting a slideshow To start the slideshow, select Slideshow. Define a slideshow During the slideshow, press and select Slideshow settings. The following options are available: Ordering View you pictures by directory, by date, randomly or as specified in the Customize directory. Display duration Select the display duration of the pictures in the slideshow. Note: Select None if you do not want the picture to change.
Settings Changing the name of the frame You can change the name by which the frame will be known to other Bluetooth and Wi-Fi devices. To do this: 1. Select Settings > Frame Name. 2. Enter the new name and select OK Note: Spaces are replaced by underscores. Setting the alarm 1. Select Settings > Alarm. 2. Enable the alarm by pressing the trackball. 3. Set the time then select the ring tone and volume 4. Select Repeat to define which days the alarm is to be set.
Define automatic power on/off Defining a power on/off time Note: Before using this option, ensure the time is set correctly. If you want to define a time slot in which the frame is to turn on: 1. Select Settings > Standby mode > Predefined time 2. Use the trackball to set the times the frame is to turn on and go into standby mode, then press to confirm.
Updating Automatic update via Wi-Fi If your frame is connected to a Wi-Fi network, updates are downloaded and installed automatically. When an update is completed, the frame reboots automatically. Updating the frame manually If your frame is not connected to a Wi-Fi network, you must update it manually using a USB flash drive or SD card. To do this: 1. Download the update file here 2. Put the downloaded file onto a USB flash drive or SD card.
