Before you begin Software updates Download the latest update for free (and consult the update procedure) on the Parrot ASTEROID Mini support page on our website www.parrot.com. These updates will enable you to receive new features and improve the product’s compatibility. Warnings All functions requiring an increased attention should only be used while the vehicle is stationary. Your safety and the one of the other road users prevails over phone calls, music and driving assistance applications.
Installation Note: We advise our customers to have the Parrot ASTEROID Mini fitted by a certified Parrot installer. Before you begin Warning : Use only the ISO cable provided with the Parrot ASTEROID Mini. Installing the Parrot ASTEROID Mini is done by inserting it between the car stereo and the vehicles speaker system. Note: If your car stereo is not fitted with ISO connectors, you need to purchase an ISO adapter cable to simplify the wiring procedure.
Installation diagram ISO installation Connecting the audio cable Join the vehicle audio cable to the connector of the Parrot ASTEROID Mini (Connections 1A and 2). If your vehicle is equipped with an amplifier, refer to the Installation with external amplifier section. Connecting the power cable Always check all connections first with appropriate test equipment before connecting any cable to the vehicle. 1. Installing the GPS receiver Stick the GPS Receiver in an unobstructed area inside the car. Athermic windshields and windows with a built-in antenna can interfere with GPS reception and reduce the reliability of information from navigation applications. The GPS antenna is located on the side where "Parrot ASTEROID GPS" is written and where the star-shaped logo is. This logo must always be directed towards the sky.
If your vehicle does not have an athermic windshield, stick the GPS Receiver on the dashboard. The side where the star-shaped logo is must be visible. To make sure the adhesive tape adheres well : select the support location carefully : once stuck, it will be difficult to change it without affecting the fixation quality ; clean the area with an appropriate cleaning product before sticking the support ; once you have stuck the support on the dashboard, wait for approximately 2 hours without handling it.

Getting started Navigating through the menus Press the button to access the main menu. Turn the jog wheel to browse through the menus. Press the jog wheel to confirm. Press the button to get back to previous menu. Press the button to access the pop-up menu corresponding to the current application. The pop-up menu allows you to change several settings or browse more easily through the content of your audio source or phonebook. Press the SRC button to select the source of your audio files.

Phone Receiving a call An incoming call is indicated by a ringtone. The name of the caller is announced if his number is recorded in the phonebook of the phone connected to the Parrot ASTEROID Mini and if the Announce caller's name option is activated. Note : To activate / deactivate the Announce caller's name option, select Settings > Telephone. To answer the call, press the button. Use the jog wheel to browse through your phonebook.
Viewing the call history Select Contacts > Call history to get the list of the dialed, missed and received calls. You can then make a call by selecting the contact and pressing the button or the jog wheel. Music Using vocal music search The voice recognition function allows you to select the artist / album you want to hear via voice recognition. This function is only available if you are using the Parrot ASTEROID Mini with a USB / SD / iPod peripheral. 1. Press the button. 2. Say the name of the artist / album when asked to do so.

SD card You can use the following SD cards (with adapter if necessary) with the Parrot ASTEROID Mini : SD, micro SD , mini SD, SDHC, mini SDHC, micro SDHC. The SD card capacity must not exceed 32Gb. MP3 (Mpeg 1 Layer3), AAC, WAV, OGG and WMA formats are supported. 1.

Note : To hide the Line in source from the audio sources list, select Settings > Audio and uncheck the Activate Line-in option. Car stereo To get back to your car radio audio output, press the SRC button on the remote control and select Car radio.
Internet Connecting a 3G / 4G key Note: Refer to the compatibility section of the Parrot ASTEROID Mini on our website to get the list of 3G / 4G keys compatible with the Parrot ASTEROID Mini. Note : To guarantee an optimal reception quality we recommend you do not connect your internet USB key 3G on the Parrot ASTEROID directly : use the USB cable to install your device on the dashboard (or any other open area). 1. Connect a 3G key to the Parrot ASTEROID Mini using a USB cable. 2.
Note : If your APN is not in the list, you can add it by selecting Settings > Network > Bluetooth sharing > Configuration. Sharing a phone 3G connection via USB Note: Refer to the compatibility page of our website to check if your phone allows 3G connection sharing via USB and to consult the corresponding procedure : www.parrot.com/ uk/compatibility. 1. Make sure the USB sharing option is activated. To do so, select Settings > Network > USB sharing > Activate. 2.
The confirmation code is a four-digit code. You will be asked to enter this code for each paid transaction on ASTEROID Market. Linking an ASTEROID Market account 1. Launch the ASTEROID Market application. 2. Enter the identifiers and then press Connect. Downloading and installing an application Before starting, you must create your account on ASTEROID Market and link this account with your Parrot ASTEROID Mini (see previous sections).

Exiting an application Exiting from an application on Parrot ASTEROID Mini without closing it does not necessarily stop your consumption of 3D data: Certain applications can operate in background mode. When you exit a music application, the buffer memory continues to load the current track.
Settings Time and date To set time and date manually : 1. Select Settings > Date / time > Settings. 2. Use the jog wheel to modify time and date. Press the jog wheel to confirm. To select your time zone, select Settings > Date / time > Time zone. To select the time format, select Settings > Date / time, then check / uncheck the 24 hours option. To select the date format, select Settings > Date / time > Date format.
Contact names announcement Contact names are enunciated while browsing the phonebook of the phone conencted to the Parrot ASTEROID Mini. To activate / deactivate this option: 1. Select Contacts. 2. Press the button. 3. Activate / deactivate the Activate TTS option. Voice commands Voice commands allow you to receive a call via voice recognition. Voice commands are activated by default. To activate / deactivate them, select Settings > Telephone > Voice commands.
Enabling GPS location The option GPS location allows Parrot ASTEROID Mini to determine your exact position. This information is required when you use geolocation or driving assistance applications. You can enable/disable this option when your Parrot ASTEROID Mini connects to the Internet. You can also activate this option by selecting Settings > Advanced settings > GPS location. Sending error reports The option Send error reports is enabled by default.
The setting Cutoff frequency allows you to select the bass cutoff frequency for the speakers (the lowest frequency that the speakers can generate naturally). The Virtual Super Bass will reproduce the frequencies that are lower than this cutoff frequency. The setting Effect intensity allows you to adjust the level of bass frequencies generated by the Virtual Super Bass effect. Using the equalizer The equalizer allows you to adjust low, medium and high frequencies to your preferences.
Using the Loudness function The Loudness function is a dynamic adjustment of bass and treble based on listening volume. This function compensates for the human ear's loss of sensitivity to bass and treble frequencies when the volume is low. To use the Loudness function, select AudioFX > Loudness. Adjust Loudness to medium or high if you generally listen to music at a low volume. Display Adjusting brightness 1. Select Settings > Display > Brightness. 2. Use the knob to adjust the screen brightness. 3.
