Radio Operation
The radio can be operated in the following ways:
Locally using the front panel controls and indicators
Locally using an extended control head
Remotely using an M7 series controller
Remotely using compatible control equipment.
Local Operation
Local operation of the M7 is effected from a front panel mounted Control Head (Fig 1-3).
The control head contains a high visibility electroluminescent display, tactile soft keys and a numeric
keypad. A complete operator audio interface incorporating loudspeaker, headset and microphone
facilities is included, along with a USB device interface.

Local Operation Using an Extended Control Head
The control head is self-contained and connects to the radio via a single E1 link. If required, the control
head can be removed from the radio’s front panel and located up to 10 metres away (see Fig 1-4).
