Replacing the Control Head
Ensure the input ac and dc supplies are disconnected before removing the Control Head.
This equipment contains devices sensitive to electrostatic discharge. Precautions applicable to
handling such equipment, including wearing a static protection wrist strap connected to earth,
should always be taken.
To remove to radio’s Control Head:
(1) Using a Torx T20 screwdriver, remove and retain the four M4 x 6 mm screws that secure the
Control Head to the chassis; see Fig 5-11.

(2) Pull the Control Head forward to access the three cables that connect to the control head’s rear
plate (Fig 5-12).
