Resetting the Unit and Restoring Communication
You can reset the unit in one of four ways:
H Reset it from the Control menu.
H Cycle the power.
H Reset the configuration options for the COM port, or reload the factory default
settings.
H Set the appropriate MIB object from NMS (see your NMS documentation).
The unit performs a self-test when it is reset.
Resetting the Unit from the Control Menu
Use this procedure to initiate a reset and power-on self-test of the unit.
" Procedure
To reset the unit from the Control menu:
1. From the Main Menu screen, select Control.
2. Select Reset Device and press Enter. The Are You Sure? prompt
appears.
3. Type y (Y
es) and press Enter. The unit reinitializes itself, performing a
self-test.
Resetting the Unit By Cycling the Power
Disconnecting, then reconnecting the power cord resets the unit.
