1. WITH THE BARREL ALWAYS POINTING IN A SAFE
DIRECTION, load your pistol as previously described in
the section on “LOADING.”
2. With a firm hold on the pistol receiver, KEEPING YOUR
FINGER AWAY FROM THE TRIGGER, take aim and press
down on the Slide Lock Safety to disengage it from the
slide lock notch.
3. Take steady aim at your target and place your index
finger over the trigger. Press the trigger gently, pulling
it to the back, until the hammer falls on the firing pin.

3. CAUTION: INSPECT THE CHAMBER AND MAKE SURE
THAT IT IS EMPTY.
4. With pistol still pointing in a safe direction, release the
slide and allow it to snap forward on the empty chamber
and then press the trigger and let the hammer fall
forward. NOTE: If the slide is locked open to its rearward
position, pull the slide back slightly and then release it.

If the magazine contains any cartridges, hold it with the
bullet end of the cartridges pointing away from you and
press each cartridge forward and out of the magazine.
6. SEGREGATE MISFIRED AND DAMAGED AMMUNITION
