Settings
3. Check Sound on keypress to play a brief sound each time
you touch a key on the onscreen keyboard.
4. Uncheck Popup on keypress to prevent a larger image of
each key from displaying above the key when you touch it.
5. Uncheck Touch to correct words to turn off the feature
that underlines a word in a text field with suggestions for
other words to use.
6. Check Auto-capitalization to have the onscreen keyboard
automatically capitalize the first letter of the first word after
a period.
7. Check Show settings key to open a dialog where you can
set whether you want the keyboard to decide automatically
whether to include the Settings key on the keyboard or
whether you want always to show the Settings key or always
to hide it.
- This only works if you have more than one keyboard or
other input method installed.
8. Check Voice input if you want to change the method for
voice input.
9. Check Input languages to select the input language for the
keyboard.
Setting the Android keyboard word suggestion
1. Tap Settings > Language & keyboard > Android
keyboard(Android keyboard settings).
2. Tap Quick fixes if you want to correct commonly typed
mistakes. The check box is selected by default.
3. Tap Show suggestions if you want to see suggestions while
you type. The check box is selected by default.
4. Tap Auto-complete if you want to insert highlighted word
automatically.
Setting the device keyboard
1. Tap Settings > Language & keyboard > Built-in keyboard.
2. Tap Auto-replace if you want to correct mistyped words.
The check box is selected by default.
3. Tap Auto-cap if you want to capitalize the first letter in a
sentence. The check box is selected by default.
4. Tap Auto-punctuate if you want to enter “. ” automatically
by pressing space key twice. The check box is selected by
default.
Managing the user dictionary
1. Tap Settings > Language & keyboard > User dictionary.
2. Press n and tap Add.
3. Enter the name of the dictionary in the box and tap OK.
Voice input & output
Text-to-speech helps listen to a text file by transforming it to a
speech file.
Setting input options
1. Tap Settings > Voice input & output > Voice recognizer
settings.
2. Tap Language, select and tap a language that will be used
for the input language.
3. Tap SafeSearch, and tap Off, Moderate or Strict for
filtering input language.
4. Tap Block offensive words if you want to hide recognized
offensive voice results. The check box is selected by
default.
