When the face matching function is activated, it detects facial features of people in images, matches them
against similar facial features recorded earlier or contained in live images, and issues an alarm when a match is
found.
Important:
 • Facematchingdoesnotworkwhilerecordedimagesarebeingplayedorthesetupwindowisdisplayed.
 • Facematchingalarmdoesnotapplyeventrecording.
 • Whenusingthefacematchingfunctionontheoperationscreen,thedisplaychangesto1-screenor
4-screen display, on the wide view screen, it changes to 3-screen display. It will not work on the multiscreen
(1-screen or 4-screen display when the screen segments are equally divided by the setting).
 • When"Alarmaction"isselectedfor"Mode"of"Advancedfacematchingalarmsetup",thesequentialdis-
play on the live monitor stops.
 • Whenseveralpeopleappearinimagesatthesametime,facematchingmaytaketime,oritmaynotbe
possible to match all facial images.
 • Adetectedpersondisplayedonthefacematchingresultwindowmaysometimesnotbethesameasthe
one who has registered the facial image.
 • Refertotheinstallationguideforsetupandfurtherinformationaboutthefacematchingfunction.
Face matching alarm actions
When a face matching alarm occurs, the following notifications will be issued:
An alarm indication and the name of the facial image (name of detected person) will be
displayed in the status display area.
The latest face matching result will be displayed
Note:
 • Whendisplayingimagesinwideview,theoperationpanelwillopenautomatically.
 • Whencopyingorplayingbackimages,thefacematchingresultwindowwillnotbedisplayed.
 • Upto16facialimagescanbememorized.Itispossibletoswitchbetweenfacialimagesbyclickingthe
[Previous]/[Next] buttons.
Other alarm actions
 • Thealarmindicatoronthefrontpaneloftherecorderwillblink.
 • Thebuzzersounds.
 • Afacematchingalarmisoutputfromaterminalontherearpanel(ifsetup).
 • Analarme-mailissent(ifsetup).
