Safety Information When the machine is not used over an extended period of time, unplug it. If an unused machine is left connected to a power source for a long period, degraded insulation can cause electric shocks, current leakage or fire. Be sure to unplug the machine before accessing the interior of the machine for cleaning, maintenance or fault clearance. Access to a live machine's interior can cause electric shock. Once a month, unplug the machine and check the power cord for the following.

Unpacking Installing Your Machine ENGLISH To set up your machine, follow the instructions on the page provided for each section. ATTENTION • Do not plug the main unit's AC Power Cord until instructed to do so. Important 1. Installing Your Machine Optional 2nd Telephone Line Jack (Optional G3 Communication Port Kit (UE-407029) is required.) Sending Documents Quick Name Search Dialing Quick Name Search function works with the machine's Auto-dialer only. Simply by pressing the first letter of your searching name repeatedly, the names beginning with that letter appear one by one in the LCD display. This may be much easier and quicker to find your searching station than using One-Touch/ABBR. Auto-dialer. This also works to find the programmed communications such as Group Dialing, Differed Transmission and so on by name.
ENGLISH It is a feature whereby scanned documents are transmitted to Internet Fax or to computers as Email. Internet Fax communicates via an Intranet or the Internet without using the telephone line. This machine can be connected to 10Base-T/100Base-TX Ethernet LAN (local area network). A regular Fax machine goes off-hook, dials, and the phone network completes a circuit over phone lines to the receiving fax. You pay for the circuit.
What is Internet Fax? Using the Internet Fax Feature To use the Internet Fax feature, a network cable must be connected to the machine, and the network environment must be properly configured in Function Parameters. For setup instructions, refer to the Operating Instructions (For Advanced Operations) on the provided CDROM. For the total system to work properly via the LAN, certain information and additional parameters must be set.
