■■Bluetooth® wireless technology Caution ●●The projector uses the 2.4 GHz radio frequency ISM band (Bluetooth®). To avoid malfunctions or slow response caused by radio wave interference, keep the projector away from the devices such as other wireless LAN devices, other Bluetooth devices, microwaves, mobile phones and the devices that use 2.4 GHz signal. ■■Ventilation Caution ●●Do not cover the air inlet port or air outlet port. This could result in trapping of heat inside the projector, leading to fire.

■■Focus adjustment P. 25 Due to the heat of the light from the light source, the projector lens does not have a stable focus immediately after it is turned on. Installing the Projector Forms of installation There are two forms of installing the projector. Set the [Projection Mode] ( P. 29) in the Settings menu in accordance with the form of installation. ■■Installing on the floor or table, and projecting images on the screen in front Install the projector in front of the screen, and project images. This is the most common method of installing the projector, and enables easy installation and movement of the projector.

Connections Before connections • Before connections, be sure to thoroughly read the manual of the external devices to be connected • • to the projector. Connect the cables after turning off the mains power to each device. Do not increase the length of the cables unnecessarily. The longer the cable length, the more the effect of noise. If you use the product with cables in the wound state, they will act as an antenna, which would further increase the effect of noise.
Note ●●External devices and cables, etc. are not provided as accessories along with the projector. ●●When connecting an external device, turn off the mains power to all devices. ●●Use an HDMI High Speed cable conforming to HDMI standards as the HDMI cable. If you use a cable that does not conform to HDMI standards, the projector may not operate properly as images may be broken or may not be reflected. ●●This projector does not support VIERA Link.
Turning on the Projector Before turning on the projector, make sure the installation and connections are complete. 1 Open the top cover by hand as shown in the figure. 3 Press the power On / Off button on the remote control or the projector to start the projector. • After the power indicator flashes green, it • lights up in green, and pictures start to be projected. It may take some time from the start of the projector until the projection of images starts.
Making Initial Settings Set the usage environment Normally, select [HOME]. ([SHOP] is a mode that is exhibited at stores, etc.) When the initial settings screen is displayed When you turn on the projector for the first time after purchase, or when you run [Storage & reset] → [Shipping Condition] from the Settings menu, the initial settings screen appears after the start of projection. Make the settings according to your usage conditions and status.
Register (pair) the projector on a Bluetooth device When you register (pair) the projector on a Bluetooth device (such as a smartphone), you can play back the music contents of the Bluetooth device on the projector. • If you do not want to register, or if you want to register later, select [SKIP], and end the initial settings. 1 Select [ON] by using the buttons. Bluetooth ready setting Setup bluetooth ready setting in order to enjoy a music from a smartphone and tablet etc. via bluetooth.
Home Screen The operations and settings of the projector can be easily accessed from the Home screen. HDMI The input source switches to HDMI, and an HDMI input image is displayed. Network Select [DLNA] to play back contents such as photographs, movies, music, etc. via a network. To project images displayed on a device compatible with the mirroring function, select [Mirroring]. • To use the [DLNA] and [Mirroring] functions, it is necessary to connect the projector to a network.
Projecting Images Selecting the images to project Switch the image input. 1 Adjusting the image quality Perform fine adjustment of the image projected on the screen, or its position. 1 Switch to the input source of the image to project. • Select the input source from the button. Adjust the projection angle. • Install the projector parallel to the screen • • Press the , , or button on the remote control, or press the button on the projector to switch directly.
3 Adjust the focus. • Adjust the focus of the image by using the focus lever of the projector. Turning off the Projector 1 Press the power On / Off button on the remote control or the projector and set it to Off. • The power indicator will light up orange. • The cooling fan will continue to operate until the temperature of the projector falls down.
2 After the cooling fan stops (the power indicator lights up red), if necessary, turn off the projector by turning “OFF” the MAIN POWER switch. • When the main power has been cut off, the date and time setting will be cleared. To set the date and time again, make settings from [Date & time] ( P. 30) in the Settings menu. Viewing the Settings Menu You can view and select the various settings items. 1 2 Press the button. Select [Settings] by using the buttons, and then press the button.
Making Settings Projector Network ■■Wi-Fi Press the button to switch Wi-Fi to ON or OFF. If you turn Wi-Fi to [ON], the following items will be displayed and can also be set. • Available networks: Select the network to use by using the buttons, and then set it by pressing the button. • WPS (Push button): Search for the routers that can be connected on the WPS by pressing the button. During search, press the WPS button of the router.
■■Lamp Power Mode Switches the brightness of the projector lamp in accordance with the operating environment and purpose of use. [Standard] Select this mode when high brightness is required. [ECO 1] The brightness of the lamp is reduced by approximately 24% in this mode. Select this mode if a high brightness is not that necessary. [ECO 2] The brightness of the lamp is reduced by approximately 40% in this mode. Select this mode if a high brightness is not necessary.
■■Reset to Defaults Returns all settings of the sound to the settings during shipment from the factory. Basic ■■Keystone Corrects the keystone distortion of the image that occurs when the projector has been installed at an angle, or when the screen is tilted. ■■Auto Standby If no signal is input, or no operation is performed for a certain amount of time, the projector automatically turns off to reduce unnecessary power consumption.
[On] When the projector is used at high lands (above 1500 m but below 2500 m from the sea level) Note ●●When using the projector below 1500 m from the sea level, be sure to set the [High Altitude mode] to [Off]. Failure to do so could affect the life of the components, or damage the product. ●●Do not install the projector at a location that is 2500 m or higher from the sea level. USB Contents Playback Function You can play back the contents (such as photographs, movies, music, etc.) recorded in the USB memory* on the projector. * Larger than 32 GB USB memory is not supported. Viewing the USB Contents Playback screen 1 Insert the USB memory on which the photograph / movie / music file is recorded into the USB terminal. 2 3 Press the button. 4 Select [USB Contents] by using buttons, and then press the the button. Select the type of contents ([MoviePlayer] / [Gallery] / [Music]) to play back by using the buttons, and then press the button.
Network Functions DLNA function DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) is a specification that has been defined for using the DLNA-compatible devices at homes (such as PCs, recorders, audio devices, etc.) by connecting them over a network. You can play back contents such as photographs, movies, music, etc. stored in an DLNA-compatible device on the projector via a network. • In order to use this function, it is necessary for the projector and the DLNA-compatible device to be connected over the same network.
Bluetooth Speaker Lamp/Temperature Function Indicator By pairing a Bluetooth device, such as your smartphone, you can play back the music contents of the Bluetooth device on the projector. • If Bluetooth pairing has not been performed in the initial settings ( P. 22), from the Settings menu, select [Network] and then turn on the [Bluetooth Standby], and pair your Bluetooth device under [Bluetooth Pairing]. Lamp indicator Status Check Action An error is detected in the lamp or the power supply to the lamp • Check the number of times the indicator is flashing. • Turn off the projector, remove the mains plug from the wall outlet, and contact your local dealer. Lamp unit replacement Lamp unit Lamp unit replacement period The lamp unit is a consumable. It is necessary to replace the lamp periodically as its brightness will gradually decline and it may no longer light with continued use over time. The rated life of the lamp varies according to the settings of the [Lamp Power Mode] ( P. 28), but under the influence of the individual characteristics of lamps, the usage conditions, installation environment, etc.
