Precautions in handling • Do not touch the terminals on the back of the card. Also, prevent dirt, water and foreign matter from adhering to terminals. • Do not leave cards in the following areas: · Where exposed to direct sunlight · Humid or dusty places · Near heaters and sources of heat · Where subjected to sharp temperature changes (condensation can occur) · Where exposed to static electricity or electromagnetic waves • After use, return cards to their pouch or case.
Setup 1 Charging The unit is in the standby condition when the AC adaptor is connected. The primary circuit is always “live” as long as the AC adaptor is connected to an electrical outlet. Insert the battery into the unit and charge it. 1 Set the mode dial to [OFF]. 2 Open the card/battery door. The unit runs on AC power (status indicator lit red) and the battery cannot be charged when the mode dial is set to any position other than [OFF].
The battery is not charged at the time of purchase. Be sure to charge it before use. For charging time (P.16) We recommend using Panasonic batteries (VW-VBJ10). If you use other batteries, we cannot guarantee the quality of this product. CAUTION Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer. Dispose of used batteries according to the manufacturer's instructions. ● Do not heat or expose to flame.

Setup 3 Inserting/Removing SD cards (sold separately) SD cards are sold separately. Preparations: Set the mode dial to [OFF]. (Check that the status indicator is out.) Setup 6 Setting the date and time Setting the date and time Before recording, check that the date and time have been set. The very first time that power is turned ON, a message appears prompting you to set the date and time. Editing 1 Deleting motion/still pictures Use a sufficiently charged battery or the AC adaptor. Do not turn off the unit or open the card/battery door while the unit is deleting pictures. Deleting one picture at a time While playing back the picture to be deleted To cancel deletion halfway through Pictures that were already deleted before the deletion operation was cancelled cannot be restored. Editing 3 Setting DPOF for still pictures DPOF is the acronym for Digital Print Order Format and designates which still pictures are to be printed and how many copies are to be made on SD cards. This information can be used by DPOF printers and stores. Set to [ ]. To cancel the setting Make settings from the menus. Connect the unit and AC adaptor (P.14) and set the mode dial to [ ] or [ ]. Connect the unit and TV with the AV cable (supplied). VIDEO IN AUDIO IN Insert the plugs as far as they will go. If your TV is not equipped with AV Input Sockets, the 21-pin Adaptor (optional) is necessary. Consult your dealer.
With other products 2 Copying to video recorders or DVD recorders Motion pictures recorded with this unit can be copied to TV video recorders and DVD recorders (hereinafter referred to as “recorder”). For recorders settings, see the operating instructions of the recorders. Copying pictures using the AV cable (supplied) Connect the unit and AC adaptor (P.14) and set the mode dial to [ ]. Connect the unit and recorder with the AV cable (supplied). VIDEO IN Insert the plugs as far as they will go.
With other products 3 Printing pictures from PictBridge printers Connect the unit and AC adaptor (P.14), and set the mode dial to a setting other than [OFF]. Connect the unit and printer with the USB cable (supplied). Insert the plugs as far as they will go. Select [PictBridge]. Select the still pictures to print.
