During recording
Press [¥ REC] on this unit to select the recording time.
≥The unit’s display changes as shown below.
≥This does not work during timer recordings (➡ 26) or while
using Flexible Recording (
➡
below).
≥
If you change the channel or recording mode while recording
is paused, the time specified to stop recording is cancelled
.
≥The unit turns off automatically after the time to stop
recording is reached.
To cancel
Press [¥ REC] on this unit several times until the counter
appears.
≥The time to stop recording is cancelled; however, recording
continues.
To stop recording partway
Press [∫].
[RAM] [-R] [-R]DL] [-RW‹V›] [+R] [+R]DL] [+RW]
The unit sets the best possible picture quality that fits the
recording within the remaining disc space. The recording mode
becomes FR mode. Refer to “FR (Flexible Recording)” (
➡
23).
Preparation
≥Press [THEATER] to switch the remote control to operate
this unit.
≥Press [DVD] to select the DVD drive.
≥Press [WXCH] to select the channel or press [INPUT] to
select the external input (AV1, AV2, AV3 or DV) to record.
1 While stopped
Press [FUNCTIONS].
2 Press [3, 4] to select “To Others”
and press [ENTER].
3 Press [3, 4] to select “Flexible Rec”
and press [ENTER].
4 Press [2, 1] to select “Hour” and
“Min.” and press [3, 4] to set the
recording time.
≥You can also set the recording time with the
numbered buttons.
≥You cannot record for more than 8 hours.
5 When you want to start recording
Press [3, 4, 2, 1] to select “Start”
and press [ENTER].
Recording starts.
To exit the screen without
recording
Press [RETURN].
To stop recording partway
Press [∫].
To show the remaining time
Press [STATUS].
[Note]
When performing EXT LINK recording (➡ 29), the flexible
recording function does not work.
[RAM]
Press [1] (PLAY) during recording.
There is no sound output while searching forward or backward.
To stop play
Press [∫].
To stop recording
1 Press [∫] to stop playing.
2 Press [∫] (after 2 seconds).
To stop timer recording
1 Press [∫] to stop playing.
2 Press [∫] (after 2 seconds).

Pictures being recorded are unaffected.

1 Press [TV] to switch the remote control to operate the
television.

If your television is connected to this unit’s AUX terminal (

you can enjoy television broadcast with this unit’s speakers.
3 Press [AUX] to select “AUX”.
4 Adjust the volume on this unit.

During recording
1 Press [THEATER] to switch the remote control to operate
this unit.
2 Press [FM/AM] to select “FM” or “AM”.
3 Press the numbered buttons or [WXCH] to select the
radio channel.
4 Adjust the volume on this unit.
∫ Music port (➡ 56)
During recording
1 Press [THEATER] to switch the remote control to operate
this unit.
2 Press [MUSIC P.] to select “F MUSICP”.
3 Adjust the external device volume to a normal listening
level, and then adjust the volume of this unit with
[_j VOLUME].
[Note]
When you want to operate the DVD drive again
1 Press [THEATER] to switch the remote control to operate
this unit.
2 Press [DVD] to select the DVD drive.
