Normal recording
Preparation:
Do the preparatory steps. (
a
pages 20 and 21).
Insert the CD (
a
page 13) and press [CD q/h] to select CD as the
source then press [STOP g
].
While pressing [*/h REC]
: Press [q/h MD].
: Press [7 TAPE].
Recording starts automatically.
To stop recording
Press [g STOP/CANCEL].
CD and MD (or tape) stop.
Å Recording on MD is complete after the message “UTOC Writing” and
“” stops flashing on the display.
Do not disconnect the unit from its power source while this message
is flashing. This can cause the recording to be erased and damage
the disc.
To pause recording
: While pressing [*/h REC], press [q/h MD].
The CD pauses and the MD goes to recording standby.
A track mark is added.
: While pressing [*/h REC], press [7 TAPE].
The CD pauses and the tape goes to recording standby.
Repeat to restart recording.
To start recording a track that is playing
: While pressing [*/h REC], press [q/h MD]
: While pressing [*/h REC], press [7 TAPE]
The track returns to the beginning and recording starts and records
through to the last track on the CD.
The MD/cassette stops when recording finishes.
To record only the current track, first turn on 1-song play (
a
page 15).
To record from partway through a track, pause CD play, then start
recording (while pressing [*
/h REC] press [q/h MD] or [7 TAPE]).
ı To add track marks while recording on MDs
Press [EDIT MODE] on the remote control where the track mark is
required.
These marks can be removed after recording with the editing functions
(
a
“COMBINE”, page 33).
“SCMS CAN’T COPY” appears on the display
This appears when you try to make a digital recording of some CD-R and
CD-RW. You can record these discs by pressing [EDIT MODE] on the
remote control to select “ANALOG-REC”. You cannot use high-speed
recording in this case (
a
page 25).
