Selection of tapes for recording
The unit automatically identifies the type of tape.
Normal position/TYPE

High position/TYPE 2
Metal position/TYPE 4

Metal position tapes can be used, but the unit will not be able to record
or erase them correctly.
For tape recording
Erasure prevention for tapes
The illustration shows how to remove the tabs to prevent recording.
To record on the tape again, cover as shown, being careful not to cover
the high position detection hole.

Preparatory steps
Do these steps before each recording.
Wind up the leader tape so recording can begin immediately.
1 Press [TAPE 7] to select TAPE.
2 Press [OPEN ;], insert a cassette with the tape facing
in.
Make sure the cassette is fully inserted and close the lid by hand.
3 Press [PLAY MODE] on the remote control to select
the reverse mode.
Each time you press the button:

: One side records only.

and $ : Both sides record.
(forward side
/ reverse side)

automatically changes to / when the REC buttons are
pressed.

Erasing recordings on tape
q Press [7 TAPE] to select TAPE as the source then press
[g
STOP/CANCEL].
w Press [PLAY MODE] to select the reverse mode.
e While pressing [*/h REC], press [7 TAPE].
