1 Press [8].
The unit comes on.
2 Insert the MD.
If MD is selected as the source, the message TOC Reading
appears on the display, then information about the disc is shown;
total number of tracks, total play time, and any text information on
the disc.
If MD is not selected as the source, you can see this information
by pressing [MD q
/h] and then [STOP g].
3 Press [MD q/h] to start play.
SP lights if the track was recorded with SP mode.
LP2 lights if the track was recorded with LP2 mode.
LP4 lights if the track was recorded with LP4 mode.
4 Adjust the volume.
To stop the disc
Press [STOP g].
To pause play
Press [MD q/h]. Press [MD q/h] again to resume play.
Skipping tracks
Press [REW/u/2] (backward) or [1/i/FF] (forward).
Skipping groups (
a
page 30)
Press and hold [REW/u
/2] (backward) or [1/i/FF] (forward) while
stopped.
Searching through tracks
During play or pause
Press and hold [REW/u
/2] (backward) or [1/i/FF] (forward).
One touch play
When an MD is loaded and the unit is off, press [MD q/h]. The unit
comes on and starts play.
To eject the MD
Press [EJECT ;].

Å When “” is displayed
There are 16 or more tracks on the disc.
When BLANK DISC is displayed
You inserted a blank disc.
Relay play
Plays in the order MD, TAPE, CD.
While stopped
Press and hold [MD q
/h] until RELAY appears.
To cancel
Press [STOP g
].
During relay play
¡ CD and MD repeat modes are canceled (
a
pages 15 and 31).
¡ CDs and MDs play in the selected play mode (program, random,
1-song or 1-group
a
pages 14, 15 and 31).
¡ Tape reverse mode switches to / if it was set to $

page 16).
