Glossary Decoder A decoder restores the coded audio signals on DVDs to normal. This is called decoding. Dolby Digital This is a method of coding digital signals developed by Dolby Laboratories. Apart from stereo (2-channel) audio, these signals can also be 5.1-channel sound. DTS (Digital Theater Systems) This surround system is used in many movie theaters around the world. There is good separation between the channels, so realistic sound effects are possible.

Preparation • To prevent damage or scratches, lay down a soft cloth and perform assembly on it. • For assembly, use a Phillips-head screwdriver (not included). How you setupyour speakers can affect thebass and thesound field. Note thefollowing points: • Place speakers onfiatsecure bases. • Placing speakers tooclose tofloors, walls, and corners can result inexcessive bass. Cover walls and windows with thick curtains. Keep your speakers atleast 10mm(W32") away from thesystem forproper ventilation. Setup example Place thefront, center, and surround speakers atapproximately thesame distance from theseating position.
