Disposal Disposing the appliance Disposing packaging Before disposing the appliance, remove the dust bag and all the filters, and then dispose them with normal household waste. Make sure that any package, for example, plastic bags, are kept out of the reach of children to avoid risk of suffocation. The packaging used to protect the appliance from damage during transportation is all recyclable. For information on recycling, contact your local authority.

Correct usage - This appliance is for indoor use with domestic purpose only and is not specifically designed for allergy sufferers. Use the appliance only in accordance with the instructions in this manual. Any other usage or modification is dangerous. The manufacturer is not liable for damage due to improper use of the appliance.
- Do not handle plug or the appliance with wet hands. - Do not use the appliance on people or animals. - Do not use wet filters after washing, make sure they are completely dry to avoid damaging the appliance.
CAUTION FOR AC MAINS LEAD (UK and Republic of Ireland only) FOR YOUR SAFETY PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TEXT CAREFULLY. This appliance is supplied with a moulded three pin plug for your safety and convenience. A 13-amp fuse is fitted in this plug. Should the fuse need to be replaced please ensure that the replacement fuse has a rating of 13 amps and that it is approved by ASTA or BSI to BS1362. or the BSI Check for the ASTA mark on the body of the fuse.

How to use the Vacuum Cleaner 3 Operating the appliance Set the hose around the hose clip. Always place the hose in the clockwise direction. CAUTION To avoid any possible damage to the mains lead, never run over the cord or allow it to become caught in the beater bar assembly. 1 2 Insert the base of the carrying handle into the top of the appliance body as shown. Push in handle and tighten the handle screw. Do not overtighten the handle screw. Insert the hose to suction inlet.
7 8 Push the switch button to “I” to turn ON and to “O” to turn OFF the appliance. To unlock the handle of the appliance, step on the foot pedal. To return into the upright position, simply put the handle back until it clicks. - Upright position The handle should be in the upright position when cleaning tools are used. - Middle position For normal cleaning, step the foot pedal and pull back the handle to a comfortable angle and release the pedal to lower the floor nozzle.
Using the accessories 1 To use the accessories, keep the appliance in the upright position. 2 Pull out the hose from the rear side of the appliance and remove the hose from the hose clip and support. Hose clip Hose support 3 Connect any accessory as illustrated. - To prevent damage to carpeted floors, Linoleum, etc., tilt the appliance back so that the floor nozzle is raised off the floor. 4 - To avoid accidental injury, keep children away from the floor nozzle while in operation.
Storing Replacing the paper dust bag Perform the following before storing. 1 2 Turn off the appliance, and then remove the plug from the socket outlet. Turn the upper cord hook in the upright position and wind the mains lead around the upper and lower cord hooks. 3 Press bottom of the paper dust bag and set it completely inside the dust compartment. Make sure all edges of the paper dust bag are completely inside the dust compartment. If suction power does not return, check to see if the hose or suction inlet is clogged (see page 15).
Maintenance Cleaning filters WARNING The plug must be removed from the socket outlet before cleaning or maintaining the appliance. CAUTION Do not use detergent or any other cleaning liquids. Cleaning the outside of the appliance Clean the outside of the appliance with a soft cloth. CAUTION Never use the appliance without the filters properly installed. Failure to do so may result in motor damage.
Replace the exhaust filter (Clean air filter) once or twice a year. 1 Remove the dust cover. 2 Slide out the filter support, replace the exhaust filter and re-install.
Replacing floor nozzle parts CAUTION Keep screws away from children after removing the base plate. - To replace the beater bar belt, lift the beater bar assembly to remove the beater bar belt. Replace the beater bar belt with a new one and reassemble in the reverse order. Turn the beater bar assembly by hand to ensure the belt have been seated correctly. We recommend the use of original Panasonic replacement parts.
Removing blockages If the appliance stops picking up dust, a blockage may have occurred. 1 Remove the hose from the suction inlet, turn the hose right and pull it upwards. 2 Clear any obstruction from the hose and/or suction inlet using a blunt implement. Take care not to damage the hose. 1 Remove the hose from the rear side of the appliance. 2 Clear any obstruction with care as shown.
Trouble Shooting Please check the following first if you have any problems. Problem Motor fails (no noise is heard at all). Possible cause - Unplugged at socket outlet. - Mains lead fuse blown. - Thermal cut-out device has operated. The motor runs but lost suction. - Clogged hose or inlet - Full or broken paper dust bag - Dirty central filter - Hose not inserted correctly. Beater bar assembly does not rotate.
