B) MAINS LEAD C) ON/OFF SWITCH 2 1 1 On-Off Switch Quick Release Cord Hook Wrap the mains lead around the upper and lower cord hooks and push the mains plug under the lead. To start or stop the vacuum cleaner, push the switch button to ‘I’ to turn ON and to ‘O’ to turn OFF. Turn the upper cord hook to release the mains lead. E) HOW TO USE THE ACCESSORIES 1 2 1 6 1 Connect any of the accessories, as indicated. Lift out accessories needed. 3 1 5 1 To prevent damage to carpeted floors when using tools the Carpeted/Bare floor selector should be placed in BARE FLOOR (Tools). 4 1 Connect Mini turbine nozzle as indicated. CAUTION:While using the accessories, hold the handle with one hand to avoid pulling the vacuum cleaner over. To avoid accidental injury, keep children away from the beater bar while in operation.
MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING Always follow all safety precautions when cleaning and servicing the vacuum cleaner. WARNING: Electrical Shock And Personal Injury Hazard Disconnect from electrical supply before servicing or cleaning the vacuum cleaner. Failure to do so could result in electrical shock or personal injury from vacuum cleaner suddenly starting.
C) DUST BIN CLEANING Always empty the dust bin when dirt level reaches the “MAX FILL” line. CAUTION: Electrical Shock And Personal Injury Hazard Always disconnect the vacuum cleaner from mains outlet before carrying out any service or maintenance on the vacuum cleaner. 1 2 1 Release Lever MAX Fill Line TO REMOVE DUST BIN Remove dust bin assembly from vacuum cleaner by lifting the release lever as shown. 3 1 Remove dust bin from vacuum cleaner by tilting out as shown.
D) DUST BIN FILTER CHANGING AND CLEANING Check primary filter frequently and clean when dirty. Remove the dust bin assembly as outlined in the DUST BIN CLEANING section and empty contents of dust bin. 1 Primary Filter CAUTION: Make sure dust bin is empty before filter is removed. Grasp filter screen, rotate counter-clockwise and lift out. Grasp primary filter, rotate counter-clockwise and lift out. Clean primary filter by gently tapping over a trash container.
E) CLEANING SECONDARY FILTER SCREEN The secondary filter screen protects the motor. Always check filter screen when cleaning dust bin. If dirty or clogged, remove debris from filter screen. Secondary Filter Screen F) EXHAUST FILTER MAINTENANCE The exhaust filter removes dirt from recirculated air. 1 Check filter after emptying dust bin. To remove, pull out on both sides of the exhaust filter cover. Grasp the exhaust filter and pull out to remove.
G) BELT CHANGING AND CLEANING WARNING: Electrical Shock And Personal Injury Hazard Disconnect from electrical supply before servicing or cleaning the vacuum cleaner. Failure to do so could result in electrical shock or personal injury from vacuum cleaner suddenly starting. Frequently check and remove hair, string and lint build-up in the brush area. If build-up becomes excessive, follow the steps below. Should the belt become loose or should it break, follow the Belt Removal Instructions.
TO REPLACE BELT 4 1 Motor Shaft New Belt Seat left end of beater bar into nozzle base. To seat beater bar end, place rounded portion of beater bar end cap down into slot in nozzle base. Loop the new belt on the motor shaft. Loop the other end of belt onto the belt pulley on the right end of beater bar. Belt Pulley Pull right end of beater bar forward and seat it into nozzle base. 5 1 End Cap Base Slot Beater Bar Nozzle Base Press firmly, checking to see that each end is completely inserted.
H) BLOCKAGES The hose located on the vacuum cleaner carries the dirt from the nozzle up to the dust bin.
