Getting Started Setting up Connections ■■Base unit Connect the AC adaptor plug to the unit until you hear a click. Connect the AC adaptor to the power outlet. Connect the telephone line cord to the unit, then to the telephone line jack until you hear a click. A DSL/ADSL filter (not supplied) is required if you have a DSL/ ADSL service. Note: ●● Use only the supplied Panasonic AC adaptor S003AIB0600040. ●● Use only the supplied telephone line cord. Connect the AC adaptor to the power outlet.
Getting Started Battery charging During a power failure Charge for at least 7 hours. The unit will not work during a power failure. We recommend connecting a corded-type telephone (without AC adaptor) to the same telephone line or to the same telephone line jack using a T-adaptor. Your Panasonic sales shop can offer you more information about connection possibilities.

Making/Answering Calls t For call waiting or Call Waiting Caller ID service users 1 To use call waiting or Call Waiting Caller ID, you must first subscribe with your service provider/telephone company. Outside calls can be transferred or a conference call with an outside party can be made between 2 handsets. This feature allows you to receive calls while you are already talking on the phone. If you receive a call while on the phone, you will hear a call waiting tone.

Caller ID and Calls list Caller ID and Calls list IMPORTANT To use Caller ID, first subscribe to the service from the network provider. A subscription fee may be payable. To ensure that the caller’s name is displayed, make sure the full telephone number, including the area code is stored in the phonebook. If the caller’s number is stored in the phonebook, the name assigned to it will be displayed. If the number is unavailable, “UNKNOWN” will be displayed.

Programming Registering a handset De-register a handset Note: Handset batteries must be fully charged before registration. Hold the handset close to the base during the registration process. Useful Information Voicemail Troubleshooting Voicemail is an automatic answering service offered by your service provider/telephone company. After you subscribe to the service, your service provider/telephone company’s voicemail system answers calls for you when you are unavailable to answer the phone or when your line is busy. Messages are recorded by your service provider/telephone company, not your telephone.
Useful Information Keypad does not seem to work ●● Check that the keypad lock is not on, see page 19. icon is not scrolling during charge ●● Adjust the handset slightly on the base. ●● Clean the charging contacts with a cloth moistened with alcohol. ●● Check that the mains power is connected properly and switched on. ●● The battery is full. When the icon handset is fully charged, will appear steadily on the display.
