Make sure that the power is ON (p. 14) and the unit is in the stand-by mode. Ringer volume Ringer pattern 7 levels are available. The lowest level is 1. The highest level is 6. The factory preset is 3. When set to OFF, the handset will not ring. You can program the desired handset ringer pattern (6 patterns). The factory preset is pattern 1.

If a greeting message is not recorded, one of two pre-recorded greeting will be played when a call is received. All messages (greeting, incoming, memo, etc.) are stored in digital memory (p. 39). The total recording time is approximately 15 minutes. The greeting recording time is limited to 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

Ex: Line access number 9 (PBX) ➡ RDL ➡ Phone number • Pressing RDL once creates a pause. This prevents misdialling when you redial or dial a stored number. • Pressing RDL more than once increases the length of the pause between numbers.

You can enter numbers to access an answering service, electronic banking service, etc. When you hang up, the mode will return to pulse. Setting the Key Lock You can lock the handset dialling buttons. Only incoming calls are accepted until the key lock is cancelled.

Example: British Telecom call waiting When a call waiting tone is heard during a conversation: • Each time you press RCL , you can switch between the first and second call. • Depending on the provider, you may need to enter a code after pressing RCL . Follow the instructions given by your provider.

Changing the password may prevent the unauthorised use of your unit by another person. Once you have programmed the password, you cannot confirm it. We recommend you write down the password. Incoming calls can still be accepted. Setting the Direct Call Mode After storing the direct call number, the unit will automatically switch to the direct call mode. Phone numbers beginning with the restricted digits cannot be dialled out. For example, if “00” is assigned as the call restriction number, international calls cannot be made. For selected handset(s), you can assign up to 6 call restriction numbers (up to 8 digits). Set the call restricted handset(s) and the restriction number(s) by programming. The factory preset is OFF.

Erase some or all of the messages. We recommend you erase unnecessary messages after each playback.

To operate the unit remotely, you must first store your remote code using the handset near the base unit (p. 42). If not registered within 1 minute, press PROG on the handset to cancel the programming mode. Then start again from step 1.
