5.3.1 Setting direct print features
You can change the direct print settings. The settings
are reset after each printing.
To select the paper input tray (“INPUT TRAY”)
You can select the paper input tray for the direct print.
1. Press MCN or MDN repeatedly to select the desired
setting.
#1: Standard input tray
#2: Multi-purpose tray (y)
#3: Lower input tray
#1+#2+#3, #1+#2, #1+#3 or #2+#3

*1 These options are displayed only when the
paper size (feature #380 on page 76, feature
#381 on page 76 or feature #382 on page 77)
and the media type (feature #383 on page 77,
feature #384 on page 77 or feature #385 on
page 77) match. If either is changed, this setting
will be changed accordingly.

To change the number of copies to print (“COPIES”)
You can also change the default setting (feature #660
on page 92).
1. Enter the number of copies (up to 99).

To change the orientation (“ORIENTATION”)
You can change the print orientation.
You can also change the default setting (feature #661
on page 92).
1. Press MCN or MDN repeatedly to select the desired
setting.
PORTRAIT: For portrait orientation.
LANDSCAPE: For landscape orientation.

To select the page layout (“N in 1 TYPE”)
You can save paper by printing 2, 4 or 8 pages onto 1
page. The documents’ size will be reduced to fit the
recording paper.
You can also change the default setting (feature #662
on page 92).
1. Press MCN or MDN repeatedly to select the desired
setting.
OFF: Deactivates this feature.
2 in 1: 2 pages will be printed onto 1 page.
4 in 1: 4 pages will be printed onto 1 page.
8 in 1: 8 pages will be printed onto 1 page.
2. MOKN
To select a page border for N in 1 (“Nin1 PAGE
BORDER”)
You can select whether or not to print a line between the
pages in N in 1 printing.
You can also change the default setting (feature #663
on page 92).
1. Press MCN or MDN repeatedly to select the desired
setting.
NONE: For printing without a line.
SOLID LINE: For printing with a line.

To select duplex print (“DUPLEX”)
You can select the type of binding.
You can also change the default setting (feature #664
on page 92).
1. Press MCN or MDN repeatedly to select the desired
setting.
OFF: Deactivates this feature.
LONG EDGE: For long edge binding.
SHORT EDGE: For short edge binding.

To select continuous print (“CONTINUOUS PRINT”)
You can select whether documents in different file
formats are printed onto 1 page in layout printing or
duplex printing.
You can also change the default setting (feature #665
on page 92).
1. Press MCN or MDN repeatedly to select the desired
setting.
DISABLED: Only the same file formats can be
printed.
ENABLED: Different file formats can be printed.
