Caution: R Read the following instructions before you begin installation. After you have read them, open the toner cartridge protective bag. The toner cartridge contains a photosensitive drum. Exposing it to light may damage the drum. – Do not expose the toner cartridge to light for more than 5 minutes.

Note: R To ensure that the unit operates properly, we recommend the use of Panasonic toner cartridge. See page 7 for accessory information. Important: R Push down to lock the plate (B) in the paper input tray, if necessary. A 1 Lift the paper input tray (A), and pull it completely out.

A Note: R If the paper is not loaded correctly, re-adjust the paper guides, or the paper may jam. R If the paper input tray does not close, the plate in the paper input tray may not be in the locked position. Push the paper down and make sure that the paper is laying flat in the paper input tray.

It can hold one page at a time. When printing or copying multiple pages, add the next page after the first page has been fed into the unit. R Remove the stopper (B) if attached. – – the fax activation code (feature #434 on page 57) remote access to your phone company’s Voice Mail (if you subscribed) Note: R If the call is a phone call, the answering machine will record voice messages.

Fax (KX-MB1520/KX-MB1530 only) 6.8 Junk fax prohibitor (preventing fax reception from undesired callers) If you subscribe to Caller ID service (page 46), this feature prevents fax reception from calls that do not show caller information. Additionally, the unit will not accept faxes originating from numbers that match the ones on a programmable junk fax prohibitor list. Important: R This feature does not work if you receive faxes manually. 6.8.
6. Fax (KX-MB1520/KX-MB1530 only) 6.9 Receiving a fax on your computer You can receive a fax document on your computer. The received fax document is saved as an image file (TIFF-G4 format). Important: R Make sure the PC fax setting is set to “ALWAYS” or “CONNECTED” beforehand (feature #442 on page 58). 1 Press MFax Auto AnswerN repeatedly to turn the auto answer setting ON (page 41). 2 Start Multi-Function Station.

Distinctive Ring (KX-MB1520/KX-MB1530 only) 8.1 Distinctive Ring service When a call is made to one of your phone numbers, the telephone company sends a ring pattern to your telephone line to indicate which number the call is intended for. By setting up this unit for Distinctive Ring, you can make the unit automatically start fax reception when a call comes to the fax number.

11. Help 11.3 When a function does not work 11.3.1 General Problem Cause & Solution The unit does not work. R Check the connections (page 12, 23). The recording paper exit becomes full quickly or the recording paper does not stack properly on the recording paper exit. R High humidity may cause the recording paper to curl. Try turning the paper over and re-inserting it. If the curl on the paper is heavy, please remove it from the recording paper exit.
