Copying
Problem Cause & Remedy
The unit does not make a copy.
A dirty pattern or a black line
appears on the copied documents.
The copied document is blank.
●
You cannot make a copy while programming. Make a copy after
programming or stop programming.
●
The glass or rollers are dirty. Clean them (p. 87).
●
The recording paper roll is installed incorrectly. Make sure that
the shiny side of the paper is facing down and re-install the paper
(p. 22).
If a power failure occurs
●
The unit will not function.
●
The memory contents will not be erased.
●
Fax transmission and reception will be interrupted.
●
If delayed transmission is programmed and the start time has passed during a power failure, transmission
will be attempted soon after power is restored.
Receive mode
Problem Cause & Remedy
I cannot select the desired receive
mode.
●
If you want to set the TAD/FAX or FAX ONLY mode:
– Select the desired mode using feature #05 (p. 52), and
– Press to turn on the AUTO RECEIVE light.
●
If you want to set the TEL or TEL/FAX mode:
– Select the desired mode using feature #08 (p. 56), and
– Press to turn off the AUTO RECEIVE light.

Problem Cause & Remedy
No voice messages have been
recorded in the TAD/FAX mode.
I cannot retrieve recorded messages
from a remote telephone.

The memory is full. Erase some or all of the messages (p. 66,
72).
●
Make sure that you use the remote operation ID correctly (p. 70).
