2When receiving a call, the unit will receive a fax
document or record a voice message automatically
depending on the caller’s request.

1If the (Auto answer) light is off, turn it on by
pressing

Recording your own greeting
message
You can record your own greeting message. When
receiving a call, it will be played to callers instead of the
pre-recorded Japanese greeting message.
1Press (Record).
3Lift the handset.
4Press (Start).
5Record your greeting message, up to 16 seconds,
using the handset.
6Press (Stop).
7Replace the handset.
●
Your greeting message will be played back
automatically.

Rotate the (Search dial) until the following is

AUTO ANSWER mode will work when the (Auto
answer) light is on.
AUTO ANSWER mode provides three types of receiving
modes: “FAX / ﾙｽﾃﾞﾝ” (Fax/Answering device) mode,
“FAX ｾﾝﾖｳ” (Fax only) mode and “ﾙｽﾃﾞﾝｾﾝﾖｳ” (Answering
device only) mode.

Fax/Answering device mode (FAX / ﾙｽﾃﾞﾝ)
–Pre-selected setting:
Select this mode when you want to receive all voice and
fax calls automatically.
Fax only mode (FAX ｾﾝﾖｳ):
Select this mode when you wish to use the unit only as a
fax machine.
Answering device only mode (ﾙｽﾃﾞﾝｾﾝﾖｳ):
Select this mode when you wish to use the unit only as a
telephone answering device.
Change the setting if you want to use the fax only mode
or answering device only mode.
1. Press (Function).

3. Press (Select) repeatedly.
4. Press (Register).
5. Press (Stop).
