Listening to the Radio
Operations
Manual tuning
“TUNED” is displayed when a station is tuned.
“ST” is displayed when a stereo FM broadcast is tuned.
Tuning directly using the numbered
buttons
1. Press [FM/AM] to activate the radio.
2. Press [FM/AM] to select “FM ” or “AM ”.
3.
Press [DIRECT TUNING, DISC] to select
Direct Tuning Mode.
4. Press the numbered buttons to enter the
frequency.
e.g. FM 107.9 MHz,

[9].
• If y
ou do not press a button while the cursor is flashing, the
display returns to the frequency being received.
• If the frequency has not been input correctly, “ERROR ” will be
displa
yed.
Using the unit
1. Turn [INPUT SELECTOR] to select “FM ”
or
“AM ”.

Using the remote control
1. Press [FM/AM] to select “FM ” or “AM ”.

Automatic tuning
Hold down [TUNE

remote control until the frequency begins to scroll.
• Tuning stops when a station is found.
• Tuning may stop if there is interference.

Reducing excessive noise

During FM stereo reception
You can improve FM reception by switching reception to
monaural.
1. To enter the SETUP (

“TUNER ”, and
press [OK] to confirm.

“FM MODE ”, and
press [OK] to confirm.
4.
Press [

“MONO ”, and
press [OK] to confirm.
• When this is set, “MONO” appears on the display.
• Select “AUTO ” to cancel.

During AM reception
When there is a lot of noise interference with an AM broadcast,
try switching to this mode.

“BEAT PROOF ”,
and press [OK] to confirm.

• Select “MODE 1 ” or “MODE 2 ” according to the improvement
of sound.
FM frequency step
If the correct FM frequency cannot be tuned in, change the
frequency step to suit your area.

• When the frequency step is changed, the previously
memorized preset stations are initialised to the settings made
at the time of shipment.
