Operating Instructions

To activate this feature, set the following beforehand:
1. Program the email server settings for Internet fax.
1. Start Multi-Function Station.
2. [Device] [Configuration Web Page] [Network]
3. Type “root” as the user name, then enter the password (feature #155). [OK]
4. Select the [EMAIL FEATURE] from the menu.
5. Click [Edit] next to [EMAIL FAX SERVER].
6. Enter email address (from), email server information, and time zone.
To use the direct SMTP for Internet fax, enter the email address (from).
7. [Submit]
8. Close the web browser.
2. Register email address destinations (recommended).

3. Activate the direct SMTP setting (feature #425) (recommended).

8.8.1 Sending an Internet fax
We recommend to register email destinations beforehand.

1. Set the original.
2. If necessary, change the resolution (page 106) and contrast (page 106) according to the type of document.
3. : /FAX /E-MAIL (repeatedly): "EMAIL SEND" OK/SET
To scan a 2-sided original, select the desired binding of the original. OK/SET
To scan a 1-sided original, select "OFF". OK/SET
: "EMAIL FAX" "Send"
To scan a 2-sided original, tap "DUPLEX". Select the desired binding of the original.
4. Enter the destination email address (page 120).
5. /START
When using the scanner glass, scan the 1st page.
: To scan the next page, place the document and press OK/SET . Repeat this until all the
documents are scanned, then press /START .
: To scan the next page, place the document and press "Scan". Repeat this until all the documents
are scanned, then press "Send".
Internet fax auto redial
If there is a problem with the LAN connection or if there is no answer, the unit will automatically resend the
document 2 or more times.
Specifying the destination
Using dial keypad (2-line LCD models only) (

(repeatedly): "ENTER ADDRESS" /START enter the email address.
Using address book
: (repeatedly): Display the desired item.
: "Address Book" Select the desired item.
