Note
• When scanning a document, we recommend using the scanner glass rather than the automatic document
feeder for better results. ( )
• Do not open the document cover when scanning a document with the automatic document feeder. ( )
• You can set the desired scan mode for push scan beforehand (feature #493) (2-line LCD models only).
1. Set the original.
2. Set the unit to the scan mode.
3. For 2-line LCD models:
1. Select a scanning mode. OK/SET
2. Select a destination. OK/SET
For touch panel models:
1. Select the destination and scanning mode if necessary.

• When scanning to email address, you can enter the destination email address
– see page 59 for character entry.

If the LDAP setting is activated beforehand (page 131), select "LDAP SEARCH" or "ADDRESS
BOOK".

For LDAP search, enter the name using the dial keypad (up to 11 characters), then press :
OK/SET / : "OK" to start searching.
4. If necessary, select the desired binding of the original.

5. If necessary, change the scanning settings.

• If you select "PASSWORD PDF" as the file format, enter a 4-digit password using dial keypad (page 59).
6. /START
When using the scanner glass, scan the 1st page.
: To scan the next page, place the document and press OK/SET . Repeat this until all the
documents are scanned, then press /START .
: To scan the next page, place the document and press "Scan". Repeat this until all the documents
are scanned, then press "Send".
7. After you finish scanning, press
: /STOP / : to reset the setting you set in these
procedures.

When using the documents of same width but of different lengths (automatic document feeder only) ( )
Make sure that the following settings are activated in step 5 on "6.2 Scanning from the unit (Push Scan)".
– The scanning mixed size setting is ON.
– The scan size setting is set to the larger document size.
