Flexible recording mode (FR)
The unit calculates the best possible recording quality between XP and EP. This is
adjusted to the space available on the disc.
This function is not possible during an EXT LINK recording. Recording in FR mode
stops when a Timer Recording starts.

Select the station with CH or the number buttons.

Press FUNCTION MENU.

Select [To Others] with and confirm with OK.

Select [Flexible Rec] with and confirm with OK.

Select [Hour] or [Min.] with and change the recording time with .

Go back to [Set rec. Time] with .

Select [Start] with , and confirm with OK. Recording begins.

To stop recording prematurely, press STOP .
The channel or recording mode cannot be changed in PAUSE mode.

Recording on hard disk in FR mode
Titles recorded in FR mode are recorded so that they will fit exactly on a 4.7 GB disc
without needing any further editing.

Set the DV unit to Pause at the required start position.

Press REC MODE to select the recording mode SP, LP, EP, XP.

Press FUNCTION MENU.

Select [To Others] with and confirm with OK.

Select [Setup] with and confirm with OK.

In the Sound menu, select the setting for [Audio Mode for DV Input]. 63

To stop recording prematurely, press STOP . Confirm the following message with
OK or RETURN.
The DVD Recorder detects the Camcorder.

Select [Rec to HDD] or [Rec to DVD] with .

Select [Recording] with and confirm with OK. Copying begins.
The DVD Recorder does not detect the Camcorder.

Select the DVD or HDD drive with DRIVE SELECT.

Go back to [To Others] with RETURN and confirm with OK.

Select [DV Auto Rec] with and confirm with OK.

Confirm [Rec] with OK. Recording begins.
Confirm the message at the end of the recording with OK.
HDD RAM
The unit cannot record and playback at the same time. Programmes are recorded as
titles.
A chapter is generated at every picture interruption and a playlist is created.
The name of the DV unit may possibly not be shown correctly. The date and time
display of the DV unit is not recorded.
