double-
sided
HDD: Longer recordings are divided into 8 hour segments.
Recording a 90 minute title to a disc with 4.7 GB of storage space.
It is not possible to record on a hard disk and on a DVD at the same time.
For recording
The recording is saved to free areas on the disc. If there is no more space left on the
disc or HDD, you must delete recordings or use a new disc.
Deleting Playlists does not enlarge the memory capacity.
Continuous recording or playback of both sides of a double sided disc is not possible.
After the end of the recording, the unit needs approx. 30 seconds to record data for
recording management.
Tracks in 16:9 format can only be recorded on HDD and DVD RAM. On all other
media, recordings are made in 4.3 format.
Formatting
If using an unformatted disc, you must format it before the first recording. 68
Formatting prepares the media, such as a recordable DVD-RAM, for recording.
All data are irrevocably deleted.
Information about recording
With this unit, you can record to DVD-RAM, DVD-R, +R, DVD-RW(V), +RW or HDD.
DVD-Video format is used to record to discs. The format is compatible with most
DVD players and DVD ROM drives in computers.
-R DL, +R DL: Direct recording is not possible with this unit. Record to HDD and
then copy the recording to the disc. 51
Disc Protection
Protect your recordings from accidental deletion or overwriting.
Activate disc protection for DVD-RAM. 68
Recording digital programmes
Digital programmes limited to "one time recording" can only be copied from the hard
disk to a CPRM compatible 12 cm DVD-RAM.
After copying, the title is deleted from the hard disk.
The title copied to DVD-RAM cannot be copied again.
NTSC Format
It is not possible to record or copy on a disc in NTSC format if the disc contains
recordings in PAL format. An error message appears.
