Changing the fax activation
code

If you wish to use an extension telephone (page 33) to receive faxes, activate
this feature and program the activation code.
M0N OFF
M1N ON (default)

2. Press M1N to select ON. A MSETN
3. Enter your code from 2 to 4 digits, using 0-9, MGN and MBN.
R The default code is H#9.

Setting the memory reception

To alert you with a beeping sound when a received fax document is stored into
memory due to some existing problem.
M0N OFF: Deactivates this feature.
M1N ON (default): You will hear a beeping sound.
Note:
R The slow beeps will continue until you clear the printing problem and make
sure the unit is supplied with enough paper to print the stored document.
Setting friendly reception
MBNM4NM6N
To receive a fax automatically when you answer a call and hear a fax calling
tone (slow beep).
M0N OFF: You have to press MFAX STARTN for fax reception.
M1N ON (default): You do not have to press MFAX STARTN for fax reception.
Setting the auto

To answer a call with an extension telephone in TEL/FAX mode (page 33), or
TAM/FAX mode (page 34) activate this feature and program the code.

M2N 60s: Maximum greeting message time is 60 seconds.

Setting the scan contrast

To send or copy a document with faint or dark writing, set this feature before
transmission or copying.
M1N NORMAL (default): Used for normal writing.
M2N LIGHT: Used for dark writing.
M3N DARKER: Used for faint writing.
