Take the Outdoors Scene Expressively
Recording Mode:
By setting the Recording Mode to [ ], [ ], [ ] or [ ] pictures can be taken more
effectively matching the conditions such as Sports, Snow, Beach & Surf Mode.
Set here when you want to take pictures of sports scenes or other fast-moving events.
1 Press [MODE].
2 Press 3/4/2/1 to select [ ], and then press [MENU/SET].
This allows you to take pictures that show the snow as white as possible at a ski resort or
a snow-covered mountain.

• Scenes for which the selected mode is not intended may be recorded with colour tones that
differ from the actual colour tones.
• The following cannot be set as the camera adjusts automatically.
– [Photo Style]/[Sensitivity]/[Metering Mode]/[HDR]
• Although White Balance is fixed to [AWB], you can use [White Balance] in the [Rec] menu to
fine-adjust the White Balance (P75).
• (Important) To prevent water leakage, make sure that there are no foreign objects, such
as sand, hair, dust, etc., clamped and close the side door all the way until it clicks. Also,
read “(Important) About the Waterproof/Dustproof and Anti-shock Performance of the
Camera” (P12) before using the camera.
• If the camera has been used at the beach or underwater, soak it in fresh water pooled in
a shallow container for approximately 10 minutes, and then wipe off the water with a
soft dry cloth. (P16)
Sports Mode
• Shutter speed may slow down up to 1 second.
• This mode is suitable for taking pictures of subjects at distances of 5 m (16 feet) or more.
