40-1372.fm Page 3 Tuesday, August 10, 1999 3:25 PM PREPARATION INSTALLING THE TRANSMITTER Connecting to Your Audio Source If you are using your audio source’s stereo headphones jack, connect the white and red plugs at the other end of the patch cord to the white and red phono jacks on the supplied Y-cable. You can connect the transmitter to your audio source’s left and right audio output jacks or its headphones jack. Caution: Do not connect the transmitter to the audio source’s speaker output.
0-1372.fm Page 4 Tuesday, August 10, 1999 3:25 PM Connecting to Power Plug the supplied AC adapter’s small straight barrel plug into the transmitter’s DC 18V jack. Then plug the adapter into a standard AC outlet. INSTALLING THE SPEAKERS Select a location for each speaker that is near an AC outlet. Caution: Each speaker’s supplied AC adapter (in a box marked FOR SPEAKER) provides 15 volts and at least 800 milliamps, and its plug’s center tip is positive.

Slowly rotate TUNING on each speaker until the indicator on the front of each speaker lights steadily. 2. Rotate the transmitter’s LEVEL all the way to the right (minimum setting). Notes: 3.

IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM If you cannot get sound once you have connected the system, check these things: • Make sure you rotate each speaker’s POWER/VOL knob clockwise until it clicks so the speakers are turned on Be sure to turn off the speakers when you are not using them.

The following suggestions will help you care for your speakers so you can enjoy them for years. Keep the speakers dry. If they get wet, wipe them dry immediately. Liquids might contain minerals that can corrode the electronic circuits. Use and store the speakers only in normal temperature environments.
