Creating and sending a multimedia
message
Multimedia messages consist of pictures,
videos, text, and sounds presented as one
or more slides. You can include any of the
following items:
Ringtones: MIDI
Sound clips: AMR, WAV
Pictures: JPG, GIF, BMP
Videos: 3GPP, 3GPP2, MPEG4
Outgoing multimedia messages can be up
to 2.0MB by default, but your wireless
service provider may have a different
maximum message size.
IMPORTANT If your smartphone is
enrolled with a Microsoft System Center
Mobile Device Manager server, you cannot
send and receive multimedia messages
from your smartphone.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
• Before you use your smartphone to
send or receive messages, consult your
wireless service provider for pricing and
availability of multimedia messaging
services.
• Make sure that your phone is on and
that you’re inside a coverage area (see
Turning your phone on
).
1 Press Messaging .
2 Select SMS\MMS.
3 Press Menu (right softkey) and select
New > Picture Message or Video
Message.
4 Select an existing picture or video, or
select Custom to start with a blank
MMS layout.
TIP
When you are viewing a message’s
contents, press Menu (right softkey) to see
several other options, like saving the attached
file with a new name.
