Selecting Sounds & Notifications
1 Press Start and select Settings.
2 On the Personal tab, select Sounds &
Notifications .
3 On the Sounds tab, set any of the
following options:
Events: Turns sounds on/off for system
warnings and error messages.
Programs: Turns sounds on/off in the
applications on your smartphone.
Notifications: Turns alarms and
reminders on/off in the applications on
your smartphone.
Screen taps: Turns sounds associated
with tapping the screen on/off, and sets
the volume level when this sound is
turned on.
Hardware buttons: Turns sounds
associated with pressing buttons on/off,
and sets the volume level when this
sound is turned on.
TIP
Can’t get music to play out of the built-in
MP3 player? Check the Ringer switch. If it’s
set to Sound Off, you won’t be able to hear
music.

Your smartphone includes a
silent alarm that can vibrate even when the
Ringer switch is set to Sound Off.
TIP
To add, preview, delete, and send sounds,
select the Manage tab. To add a sound, press
Menu (right softkey), select Add, and navigate
to the sound file. To play a sound, select it and
press Play (left softkey). To delete a sound,
highlight it and press Backspace. To send a
sound, highlight it, press Menu (right softkey),
and select Beam Sound or Send Sound.
