2 Remove the back panel from your
smartphone (see Removing the back
panel).
3 Slide the stylus out from its slot.
4 If the screen is off, press Power to
wake up the screen.
5 While pressing and holding End ,
use the tip of the stylus to gently
press and release the reset button.
6 Continue pressing and holding End
until the “Erase all data?” prompt
appears.
7 Press Up to confirm the hard reset.
8 Wait for the progress bar on the Treo
logo screen to fill before continuing to
use your smartphone.
9 Slide the back panel into place.
10 (Optional) Synchronize to restore your
previously synchronized info. If you use
a backup utility, you may also need to
restore a backup to recover additional
info and settings.
Replacing the battery
Your smartphone comes with a replaceable
battery. Be sure to use a replacement
battery from Palm that is compatible with
Treo Pro models. Do not use a battery from
any earlier model of the smartphone.
1 Press Power to turn off the
screen.
2 With the back panel facing you, push
the lower-right corner of the back panel
with your right thumb. Then use both
thumbs and firmly slide the panel away
from you to release it.
NOTE The back panel might be difficult to
remove the first few times. If you have
trouble removing the back panel as
described, go to the Knowledge Library at
kb.palm.com
