Workplace Safety
❐ Keep your working area clean and well lit. Untidiness or unlit working areas can lead to
accidents.
❐ Do not work with this device in potentially explosive atmospheres containing fl ammable
liquids, gases, or dusts.
❐ Do not spray in the vicinity of ignition sources such as static electricity sparks, naked fl ames,
pilot fl ames, hot objects, motors, cigarettes and sparks caused by plugging in and removing
electric cables or operating switches. Such spark sources may result in ignition of the
surrounding environment.
❐ Ensure that there is suffi cient ventilation if you use the device in enclosed spaces. Evaporating
fl ammable solvents create an explosive environment. Also observe the information provided
by the paint and solvent manufacturers in relation to this.
❐ Keep children and animals away from the device.
Electrical Safety
❐ To prevent the risk of electric shocks, keep the device away from rain and moisture.
❐ The device should only be connected to a properly installed socket with earthing contacts.
The socket must also be readily accessible after connection. The mains voltage must match
the technical data for the device (see the "Technical Data" chapter). Only use suitable
extension cables whose technical data is the same as that of the device. If you are working
outdoors with a device, only use extension cables which are also suitable for outdoor use. If
you use cable reels, the cable must be completely unwound from the reel.
❐ The device plug must fi t into the plug socket. It must not be changed in any manner.
❐ Ensure that it is not possible for others to trip over the connected device cable. Do not
allow the cable to hang over the edge of tables. Others may become caught and pull the
device down.
❐ Lay the device cable in such a way that it does not become squashed or bent and does not
come into contact with hot surfaces or water.
❐ Do not use the cable to support or suspend the device or grab the cable to pull the plug
out of the socket. Keep the cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges, and moving device parts.
Personal Safety
❐ Keep children and animals away from the packaging material. There is a danger of suffocation!
❐ Be attentive! Do not use the device if you are tired or under the infl uence of alcohol or
medication.
❐ Never direct the device at people, animals or plants. Avoid any contact between the skin,
eyes and mucous membranes and the coating substance which is used. Please also make sure
you follow the instructions provided by the paint manufacturer. If you come into contact
with the paint, rinse the affected sites with plenty of fresh water and if necessary consult a
doctor.
