subject to the durational limits in this paragraph. The catalytic converter has been designed and
manufactured and is warranted to meet federal Environmental Protection Agency emission
requirements for 25,000 miles. The stainless steel body and the nipples alone are warranted for 5
years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. At the conclusion of the 5 year/50,000 mile or
25,000 mile period, whichever is applicable, all liability under this limited warranty shall
terminate.
2. DEFECTS:
If this direct-fit catalytic converter is defective, PaceSetter will supply the purchaser with a new
direct-fit catalytic converter provided the following conditions are met:
a. The purchaser must return the converter to an authorized dealer, along with the completed
warranty claim card and proof of purchase;
b. If the warranty claim relates to emission performance, the purchaser should provide proof of
failure of an emissions test;
c. PaceSetter may require the purchaser to provide proof that the engine was tuned to original
manufacturer’s specifications and maintained in proper operating condition.
THE OBLIGATION OF PACESETTER UNDER THIS WARRANTY IS TO SUPPLY THE
PURCHASER WITH A NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER. PACESETTER WILL NOT BE
RESPONSIBLE FOR FREIGHT CHARGES, LABOR CHARGES, OR OTHER EXPENSE
INCURRED, OR INCONVENIENCES OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OCCASIONED
BY FAILURE OF THE PRODUCT, OR FOR BREACH OF ANY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED
WARRANTY WITH RESPECT TO THE PRODUCT OTHER THAN AS SET FORTH
HEREIN.
3. EXCLUSIONS:
Failure or defects caused by the following are not covered by this warranty:
a. Improper installation (including installation on a vehicle for which the converter has not been
cataloged) or failure to maintain the vehicle in proper operating condition with all emissions
control equipment properly connected and operating according to vehicle manufacturer’s
specifications;
b. The use of leaded fuel;
c. Damage due to an accident, negligence or misuse;
d. Converters installed on vehicles with modified exhaust or emission systems.
SAFETY STATEMENT: The catalytic converter will not in its sole operation, function, or
malfunction result in any unsafe conditions endangering the motor vehicle, its occupants, or
persons or property in close proximity to the vehicle.
