Part# 82-1177 Off Road Y-Pipe, 07-09 Silverado/Sierra.
Use with #70-2267, 72C2267
Before beginning installation, read and make sure you understand all instructions, and have
necessary equipment at hand.
Before working on the vehicle, make sure that it is well supported by jack stands or ramps of sufficient
load capacity for the weight of the vehicle. NEVER work on any vehicle which is supported only by its
service jack.
This Y-Pipe is designed to connect Pacesetter headers part number
70-2267 to original muffler and tailpipes. It may not work with other headers.
1. Disconnect battery
2. Vehicle should be on lift (preferred) or on jack stands or ramps, and header installation complete.
3. Disconnect forward rubber exhaust hanger. Lower front of exhaust about six inches.
4. Measure 2" forward from both header collector outlet ends and mark with tape. This will indicate how far
the Y-Pipe inlets should be pushed onto the collector outlets.
5. Slide driver side extension part #211771 partway onto collector of driver side header outlet.
6. Slide passenger side extension part #211772 onto collector of passenger side header and onto outlet of
driver side extension.
7. Push Y-Pipe assembly onto header outlets to tape marks, or as close as possible.
8. Install U-Clamps at header outlets, and at Y-Pipe joint.. Install extension part #211773 onto outlet of Y-
Pipe. Snug nuts but do not tighten yet.
9. Slide adaptor part #211774 or #211775 onto end of Y-Pipe extension to match exhaust being used. Slide
muffler back and up and onto adaptor. Install original nuts on flange studs, or U-Clamp, but do not tighten
yet. When you are satisfied that all components are properly aligned, tighten clamps and flange nuts.
Remove vehicle from stands, reconnect battery. Start engine and check for exhaust leaks and rattles.
Listen or watch for clearance issues. Test drive.
It is recommended that all exhaust system clamps be re-torqued after the first hot-cold cycle, and
periodically thereafter.
Due to the lubricants used in the mandrel bending process, some smoke may be seen on initial
startup. This is normal and not harmful. It will disappear as the lubricant burns off.
