Notes: If installing header on 97-98 Wrangler, extension 701129-3 is not needed. Install 2-1/2" U-clamp onto slip fit
joint and slide into converter inlet. On 91-96 models, slide hanger into rubber Mount and slip extension into converter
inlet. IF FACTORY EXTENSION CONTAINS SMALL "WARM UP" CATALYTIC CONVERTER (LOCATED IN
EXTENSION UNDER THE MIDDLE OF THE CAR), YOU MUST MODIFY #701129-2 TO RETAIN THAT
CONVERTER. DO NOT ELIMINATE IT. Proceed to Step #14.
14. Install the Y-pipe and extensions (701129-2, -3, -4) to the header using 3/8" bolts, washers, compression springs
and lock nuts provided. If vehicle has warm up catalytic converter (pre-cat), only 701129-2 extension (modified) will
be needed. See NOTES, above.
15. Check for clearance and adjust, as necessary.
16. Install and tighten supplied U-clamps onto converter inlet and head pipe slip fit.
17. Lower the vehicle. Start engine, check for leaks, Re-torque/re-tighten fasteners as required. Recheck all
fasteners after a few days of operation and periodically thereafter.
