To avoid defeating the safeguards that have been built into your set-top box, please observe the precautions discussed in this document.

Power sources The model number, serial number, and electrical rating of this set-top box are on a label on its base. You must operate your set-top box only from the type of power source indicated on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home, consult your dealer or local power company.

Connecting To ensure correct operation, use this set-top box only with the Paceapproved power supply unit provided. If you use an unapproved alternative, you will invalidate the warranty. Always connect the cord from the power supply unit to your set-top box before you insert the power supply unit into the wall socket-outlet.

CONNECTING THE EQUIPMENT Typical setup WARNINGS A typical setup is shown on page 9. This shows a Pace Xi5 connected to a high-definition TV via an HDMI cable. You Xi5 receives content from your cable TV service provider via a WiFi connection to a 5 GHz wireless router (this connection can also be made using an Ethernet cable). See page 11 for more information on wireless connections. Your equipment should have been connected up by your installer.

CONNECTING THE EQUIPMENT (cont.) WARNINGS Do not connect your set-top box (or any other equipment such as a TV or VCR) to the power supply until you have properly connected all the other cables. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety.

Starting the WiFi connection NOTE Your home must have a 5 GHz wireless router or access point that supports Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) so that the set-top box can correctly associate with your wireless network. Consult the instructions for your wireless router or access point to find out what you need to do to initiate a WPS WiFi connection. When you have activated the WPS system on your router or access point, press the base of your set-top box.
