New wattages, greater transparency
Your customers are familiar with the standardized wattages of the incandescent lamps they have been using for decades.
They know how brightly a 60 watt incandescent lamp should shine and are now searching for alternatives with the same
luminosity.
OSRAM has introduced new wattages for CLASSIC ECO SUPERSTAR,
OSRAM
DULUX
®
SUPERSTAR and LED
SUPERSTAR products that
correspond precisely to those of classic incandescent lamps, making it easier for your customers
to select the appropriate lamp in the future. The new wattages create greater transparency at the POS and in most cases,
eliminate the need for the time-consuming comparison of lumen values – a procedure which is alien for most of your cus-
tomers.
True comparability with incandescent lamps thanks to
new wattages.
When consumers look for alternatives to incandescent
lamps, they start with the classic wattages: 25 W, 40 W,
60 W, 75 W, 100 W, 150 W. However, as a general rule, the
alternatives on offer to date only corresponded theoreti-
cally to incandescent lamps. For example, purely from a
mathematical perspective, an 18 W halogen lamp replaces
a 20 W incandescent lamp while a 70 W halogen lamp
replaces a 93 W incandescent lamp – except that these
lamps have never existed and never will.
To ensure absolute transparency and true comparability,
OSRAM has therefore introduced corresponding lamp
wattages for halogen, compact fl uorescent and LED
lamps for example.
All CLASSIC ECO SUPERSTAR halogen lamps are now directly
comparable to incandescent lamps with classic “rounded” wattages.
Furthermore, all CLASSIC ECO SUPERSTAR from OSRAM belong to
energy effi ciency class C!
How many watts does the lamp have? The power consumption required
to replace a classic incandescent lamp wattage varies among LED
lamps due to the different number of LEDs used in each type of lamp.
