Small, large, stylish or in the classic light bulb shape – the new energy-saving lamps are available in a wide range of

shapes and sizes. And they are suitable for standard light bulb ﬁttings. With OSRAM you have freedom of choice

with regard to the appearance of your energy-saving lamps.

INTELLIGENT DIM product range can be continuously dimmed from 7% to 100% and ﬁt in any

lighting ﬁxture with a suitable bulb dimmer. Whether at work or at home, you can always adjust the lighting to match

your mood – and not the other way around.

“Energy-saving lamps are difﬁcult to dispose of.”

Energy-saving lamps last a very long time, but when they do eventually fail we make it easy for you to say goodbye.

OSRAM is promoting the establishment of collection centers. Correct disposal of lamps and the recycling of valuable

materials is an important part of our sustainable approach. OSRAM’s responsibility therefore does not end with the

sale of the energy-saving lamp but stretches throughout its life of up to 20 years.

“Energy-saving lamps are a health risk.”

We have had our energy-saving lamps thoroughly tested and the verdict is that they are certainly not a health risk!

All OSRAM energy-saving products comply with international requirements and fall well within the prescribed limits

for harmful substances, often as much as 100 times below the thresholds. In normal use there is no blue light haz-

ard. Investigations have also shown that the magnetic ﬁeld of a hair dryer for example is several times greater than

that of an energy-saving lamp. So you see there is no need to worry.

“Energy-saving lamps contain too much mercury.”

OSRAM energy-saving lamps contain much less mercury than the RoHS EU directive allows. This small amount does

not pose a health risk and is not released during normal operation. But sustainability does not just mean developing

durable, economical and intelligent products but also ensuring the responsible use of harmful substances. It is there-

fore the declared objective of OSRAM to dispense with mercury entirely one day – but until that time there is no need

to miss out on the beneﬁts of energy-saving lamps.
