Successfully used in millions of homes and offices for many many years – it’s no wonder that OSRAM’s
standard incandescent lamps have been so popular with so many people. And they are still available.
At least until they are removed from the market by phased European legislation (EuP/ErP).
The future of the incandescent lamp.
OSRAM incandescent lamps will still be on sale in the next
two years. The number of different types available will get
smaller and smaller however. Lamps with matt bulbs or an
output of more than 80 W ( > 950 lm ) have already been
removed from the market, and further wattages will follow
in the coming years. Go to pages 6/7 of this catalog to
see the products involved, and when they will be banned.
And the next few pages provide you with the relevant
information on the products that will be affected by the
ban in 2010 and 2011.
Spotlight lamps and special lamps are exceptions.
Spotlight lamps and special lamps for refrigerators, ovens
and sewing machines and for mirror lighting are not yet
affected by the EuP/ErP directive. OSRAM will of course
continue to offer these lamps – in a wide variety of designs
for the different applications.
Opportunities for higher sales.
The progressive ban on incandescent lamps certainly
does not mean you have to suffer a loss of sales. Quite the
contrary. The pioneering range of lamps from OSRAM gives
you an outstanding opportunity to benefit from the phase-
out of incandescent lamps – and to maximize your profits
with the latest generation of LED, Halogen ECO or compact
fluorescent lamps.
