Quick Overview of Basic Controls
Turning on the Power
PressandholdtheChannelselector.
Atpoweron,thecurrentappliedDCvoltageisdisplayednumericallyasshownbelow.
Specialoverandundervoltagedetectioncircuitryprotectstheradioandwarnsofexcessivevoltage
conditionsbytheLCDashingthe3backlightcolours.
Setting the Volume
Turnthechannelselectorclockwisetoadjustthesoundlevelforcomfortablereception.
Selecting a channel
Presschannelselectoronce.“CH”willappearontheLCD.Selectthechannelbyrotatingthechannelknob.
Setting the Squelch Level
1.Presschannelselector2times.Thecurrentsquelchlevelisdisplayed.
2.Selectthesquelchlevelbyrotatingthechannelknob.
Theradiohas16preset(offto15)squelchlevels,off-Squelchopen.
1-Max.sensitivity(Min.squelch)
15-Min.sensitivity(Max/Tightsquelch)
Note:*Ifabuttonisnotpressedwithin5seconds,theradiowillautomaticallyexitthesubdisplayof“VOL”
“CH”and“SQL”.
PTT (Push-To-Talk) button
Beforetransmitting,alwayslistenonthechanneltomakesureitisnotbeingusedbyanotheroperator.
PressingthePTTallowsaudiotobetransmitted,byspeakingacrossthefrontofthecontrollerspeaker
microphone.
TXisindicatedbythelevelbarsontheLCDdisplay.Toreceive,releasethePTTbuttonandthenTXwill
disappearonthedisplay.
Whentransmitting,holdtheMIC5cmfromyourmouthandspeakclearlyinnormalvoiceacrossthefront
of the mic.
Factory Reset
Iftheradio’sdisplaylocksuporstopsfunctioningproperly,youmightneedtoresetyourUHFradio.
Caution:ThisprocedureclearsalltheinformationyouhavestoredinyourUHFradio.
BeforeyouresetyourUHFradio,tryturningitoffandonagain.
IfyourUHFradioisstillnotfunctioningcorrectly,youmayneedtoresettheUHFradio.
Toreset,pressandholdmonitorbuttonandpoweron.“Reset”willappearinthedisplay.Theradiowillthen
returntostandbymode.
