* To even bar wear and maximize bar
life, invert the bar occasionally.
TENSIONING INSTRUCTIONS
•Withthesidecoverknobonlyslightly
tightened,holdupthenoseofthebar
andtightenthebaradjustingscrew(Fig.
27).

•Tightenthesidecoverknobsecurely.
Chaintensioniscorrectwhen,with
someeort,withaglovedhandyouare
abletopullthechainsmoothlyaround
thebar.Thechainshouldtouchthe
undersideofthebarrail(Fig.28).

Duringitsearlylifeuse,runthe
chainsaw,notcuttingforaminuteor
two,makingsurethechainisgetting
agoodsupplyofoil.Stopthemotor
andcheckthechaintension.Ifithas
loosened,readjust.
Afterashortperiodofuse,allowthe
chaintocoolandonceagainrecheckthe
tension(removethebatteryrst).Watch
tensioncarefullyforthersthalf-hour
ofuseandperiodicallythroughoutthe
lifeofthechain,readjustingasrequired
whenthechainandbararecooltothe
touch.Nevertightenchainwhenitishot.
Lubricatethechainproperlywith
OREGON®brandbarandchainoil.Ithas
beenspeciallyformulatedtomaximize
powerandreducefriction.Makecertain
thechainisgettinganadequatesupply
ofoil.Oilshouldbethrownfromthe
noseofthebarwhenthechainsawis
running,butnotinthecut.
Sawchainwillstretchasaresult
ofnormaluse,butinsucientoil,
aggressiveuse,orfailuretoperform
recommendedmaintenancecanleadto
prematurestretching.
