MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
WARNING: INSPECT THE
CHAINSAW. REGULAR INSPECTION
IS THE FIRST STEP TO PROPER
MAINTENANCE. BY FOLLOWING
THE GUIDELINES BELOW, YOU
CAN MAXIMIZE SAFETY AND
SATISFACTION. SHOULD YOU
IDENTIFY ANY DAMAGED OR
EXCESSIVELY WORN PARTS, REPLACE
THEM IMMEDIATELY.
WARNING: REMOVE THE BATTERY
PACK FROM THE CHAINSAW
BEFORE INSPECTING, CLEANING,
OR PERFORMING MAINTENANCE. A
BATTERY OPERATED TOOL WITH THE
BATTERY PACK INSERTED IS ALWAYS
ON AND CAN START ACCIDENTLY.
BEFORE EACH USE
•Handles:Frontandrearhandlesshould
nothavecracksorotherdamage.They
shouldbecleananddry.
•HandGuard:Thehandguardshouldbe
freeofdamageandabletomoveeasily
backandforth.
•GuideBar:Theguidebarshouldbe
straightandfreeofchips,cracks,or
excessivewear.
•SawChain:Thechainshouldbe
properlytensioned,andallcomponents
freeofcracks,chips,orexcessivewear.
•SideCover:Thesidecovershouldbe
freeofcracksorotherdamage.Itshould
ttightlytothesawbodywithno
warping.Makesurethechaincatchis
freeofcracks.
•BatteryPack:Thebatterypackshould
beclean,dry,withnosignsofpuncture,
impact,orotherdamage.Thecontacts
shouldbeclean,dryandfreeofdebris.
•BatteryPort:Thebatteryportand
contactsshouldbeclean,dry,andfree
ofdebris.
•ChainBrake:Testthechainbraketo
makesureitisfunctioningproperly.
•OilLevel:Oilshouldlltheinspection
window.Ifnot,lltheoilreservoir
beforeuse.
•MotorCover:Checkforcracksinthe
coveranddebrisintheairintakevents.
PERIODICALLY
•DriveSprocket:Lookfordeepgrooves,
brokenteeth,orburrs.
•TensioningScrew:Inspectthehead
andbodyofthetensioningscrewfor
excessivewear,strippedorcrossed
threads,orotherdamage.
•Bar-MountingArea:Makesurethebar-
mountingstudisnotbent,stripped,
orcross-threadedandthatthebarpad
andalignmentangearefreeofdebris
andintact.
•Charger:Thechargershouldbeclean,
dry,andfreeofpuncturesorother
damage.Thebatterytrayandcontacts
shouldbefreeofdebris.
