#4 Jim Root Terror • Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades, one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet. • Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
#4 Jim Root Terror ENGLISH Connect the supplied mains cord to the AC Mains Input on the amplifier to your AC mains wall outlet. This Class I electrical equipment must be earthed. The correct mains fuse value for your region are displayed on the unit, close to the AC Mains Input. Replace only with the same type and value. If the mains fuse repeatedly blows, contact your Orange dealer.

The speaker outputs are found on the rear of the amplifier. The minimum total load is 8Ω.
#4 Jim Root Terror FRONT PANEL FEATURES ENGLISH POWER: Switches on the mains power to the amplifier. Refer to: ‘Important Safety Instructions’ & ‘Before Using Your Amplifier’. The jewel lamp will illuminate when the power is switched on. OUTPUT (15 WATTS/STBY/7 WATTS): Make sure that the 15 WATTS/STBY/7 WATTS output switch is in the STBY (middle) position before switching the power switch to the ON position.
#4 Jim Root Terror ENGLISH GAIN CONTROL. The gain control adjusts the gain. High levels of gain will heavily overdrive the pre-amp. With the gain set to zero, no sound will be heard. BASS CONTROL The Bass control adjusts the level of bass after the pre-amp stages and before the FX Loop. MIDDLE CONTROL The Middle control adjusts the level of midrange after the pre-amp stages and before the FX Loop. TREBLE CONTROL The Treble control adjusts the level of treble after the pre-amp stages and before the FX Loop.
#4 Jim Root Terror REAR PANEL FEATURES ENGLISH SPEAKER OUTPUTS (8 Ω, 8 Ω, 16 Ω) Please refer to “Using Your Amplifier”. EFFECTS LOOP SEND AND RETURN JACK SOCKETS. The effects loop, send and return jack sockets are intended for use with outboard pedals or rack equipment such as delay, reverb and chorus etc. Effects such as wah-wah, fuzz, distortion etc, would probably be best placed between the guitar and amplifier input.
#4 Jim Root Terror VALVES AND FUSES CAN FAIL AT ANY TIME! We suggest that output valves are changed at least once a year Orange amps are protected from damage caused by valve failure and inconsistent mains voltage by various fuses. We recommend that Orange users have a set of spare valves and fuses. ENGLISH From time to time output and preamp valves may fail. The fuse on the rear labelled ‘HT FUSE’ will blow if any of the power amp/output stage valves fail.
