Synchronization
Using ActiveSync
This chapter instructs you on how to use ActiveSync to synchronize
information on your H-21 with information on your PC. Use ActiveSync to:
• Synchronize Outlook e-mail, contacts, calendar, tasks, pictures, video, and
music.
• Get up to date e-mail, contacts, calendar appointments, and tasks even
when your PC is turned off.
• Copy files between your device and your PC without synchronizing.
• Control what type of information and how much information is
synchronized.
System Requirements
Before downloading ActiveSync, make sure your PC meets the minimum
requirements.
Supported Operating Systems:
• Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 (SP4)
• Windows Server 2003 SP1
• Windows Server 2003 SP1 for Itanium-based Systems
• Windows Server 2003 Standard x64 Edition
• Windows XP Media Center Edition
• Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
• Windows XP SP1
• Windows XP SP2
• Windows XP SP3
• Windows XP Tablet PC Edition
Other Requirements:
To sync your e-mail, contacts, and tasks, make sure you’re running
Microsoft Outlook 2002, 2003, or 2007.
Installing and setting up ActiveSync
1. Log on to www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile
2. Download ActiveSync.
3. Run the install wizard and follow the on screen instructions.
4. Connect the H-21 to your PC using the provided USB cable.
The Synchronization Setup Wizard starts automatically.
5. Follow the instructions on screen to complete the wizard.
In the Sync Setup Wizard, you can:
• Create a synchronization relationship between your PC and the device.
